2.1mm at 47g.
- It's a tacky rubber, but speed-oriented techniques are surprisingly easy to do!
- Pushes and stops stay low!
- On the forehand, I could just barely pull off heavy loops and serves, and power drives were also easy to hit.
- Counter-driving is quite easy to do.
It suited my forehand better than my backhand.
Here are my complaints.
- Despite being a tacky rubber, the spin is weak.
- Pushes and stops stay low, but I felt the spin on them was lacking too.
- On the backhand the ball leaves the rubber quickly, so even when I thought a drive would land, it often went long.
Personally it's the type of rubber I like — tacky, sticky-feeling, and easy to put spin on — but within the Q series it's the most speed-oriented rubber, and I felt the spin was a bit weak.

When I first started using it, it felt a bit sluggish and I couldn't get used to it, but once you adjust, you can use it without any discomfort.

It just puts out a ton of speed.
Speed drives don't have much spin, but since they're fast, I'd give them about 9/10.
Loop drives don't have much spin, but they land deep easily, so about 4/10.
Flat hits have good speed, and if you can control them they're strong. About 10/10.
Pushes don't have much spin, but they land deep, so about 7/10.
Stops bounce quite a bit, so about 3/10.
Speed-oriented chiquitas land really deep, so about 9/10.
Spin-oriented chiquitas are hard to put spin on, so about 6/10.
Serves bounce, so you need control and practice to handle them. About 5/10.
Hitting backspin balls leaves some doubt about spin amount, but you can push through with power, so about 8/10.
Topspin rallies have great carry and speed, so about 9/10.

It's positioned as the speed-focused one in the Q series, but honestly I felt the Q4 was actually faster. Maybe it's a blade issue too? The topspin drive didn't feel that great, and both speed and spin were mediocre. Backspin balls were harder to lift than with the Q4. Since the backhand doesn't bounce much it's stable, but because the trajectory is flat it seems prone to hitting the net. I'll try it again with a different blade.

Using 2.1mm on the forehand side of a Chinese penhold. Comparing it with the other rubbers in the Q series too...
First, the general tendency is blazing speed with a flat trajectory. Compared to the fairly high arcing trajectory of the Q4 and Q5, this one is a low, piercing ball.
The spin performance is quite high. Rather than a type where the ball sinks into the sponge, I feel like you can pull out a huge amount of spin by relying on the sheet with a brushing stroke.
It also feels really good on flat hits and blocks. In particular, the one flaw the Q4 has — the ball tending to fly upward on its own — is much weaker here, and it feels more like you're the one controlling it.
One thing to watch out for is that, like the rest of the Q series, pushes and stops tend to come out oddly low.
Overall, I think it's a very distinctive rubber suited to players looking for finishing power. A lot of people say this rubber suits the backhand, but I feel like that's almost a waste on the backhand. Personally, I think it suits the forehand of a penhold looper, whose blade angle tends to stand more upright.
Within the Q series, the Q4 is also quite distinctive, but for me the Q3 lets me hit the most intense loop drives, so it's my favorite.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

Started out using this on my forehand, but it worked well on my backhand, so I'm posting about that.
When you hit a topspin drive, it grips the ball with a satisfying "thunk" and launches it out nicely. Since the ball quality changes depending on the impact when it's backhand vs backhand, you can throw off your opponent's rhythm — it's a rubber with real character.
On the forehand, the ball doesn't sit long enough, so net mistakes increase, but if you aim upward it works out fine. If you're not confident in your impact, I think the Q5 might suit you better.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

Spin, speed, stability — all top notch.
Of all the rubbers I've used, this is the best for both spin and speed, and my play, which used to be rough, has gotten stable enough to win matches now.
Since it's easy to put spin on, if you lack confidence in your spin there's no reason not to switch. For beginners who want a rubber they can stick with from the start, this is no problem at all.
I think it's a rubber that works from beginners to advanced players, so if you're not winning much, switching to this might help you win more.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft
