    Customer Reviews SummaryAI Summary
VENTUS Extra receives high ratings as a versatile rubber for intermediate players, with excellent drive performance and easy spin application being key features. However, weight is a concern, and some users report shorter durability.
    ■ Frequently Mentioned Points
    • Stable drive with easy arc trajectory
    • Easy to apply spin, excellent against backspin
    • Good balance between speed and spin
    • Relatively heavy weight limits dual-sided application
    • Some reports of shorter lifespan than expected
    ■ Representative Voices
▲ PositiveSpin application is excellent, and the drive performance is valuable at this price point. Highly recommendable for beginners to intermediate players. Considering cost-performance, every element scores above 80 points with excellent completion.
▽ CriticalDurability was exhausted in just one month with 8 hours weekly practice. Lost spin performance after 2.5 months, with Rozena being a better choice. Drives require clean form to stay on table, and the linear trajectory requires adaptation.

I'd been using tacky rubber before, but it lacked power so I went back to tension rubber. Looping against backspin was really easy overall! The sheet has good grip, so I felt it was easy to lift the ball. Also, the rubber itself is a bit on the hard side, which suits my preference. The drawback is that it's a bit heavier even compared to Tenergy and the like, so you need a full swing to bring out its performance.

      Reviews by user

49g at max thickness. Mainly used it on backhand.
      - Easy to get good spin and power even with a relatively light touch!
      - Usability somewhere between Tenergy and V>15.
      - The topsheet is strong, making countering easy!
An opponent told me it felt like it had power on par with Dignics 05. Personally, I felt like my drives got power less from spin amount and more from becoming gyro-like or knuckle-like shots.
The feel on impact reminded me of V>15 Extra in some ways, and I felt that unless you let the ball sink in first before applying spin, you don't get much spin and the arc tends to be weak. On the other hand, even though it has the same hardness as V>15, I felt Super Ventus was easier to use because the ball sinks in better. Both smashes and drives are easy to pull off, so I think it's a rubber for intermediate to advanced players. If you want to eventually get used to German rubbers, especially ones with a hard topsheet like V>15, I think mastering Super Ventus first would make that transition easier than going through Rozena.
Hope this helps as a reference.

The Battle of Minoshima! Blown away by the drive

      Reviews by user

My drives got a really nice arc with this.

That said, it's fairly heavy, so keep that in mind.

I'd recommend it for loop drivers and all-around players.

The sheet grips the ball strongly, so you're somewhat affected by the opponent's spin — it just takes some getting used to.

I'm afraid I'll be hated for looking at rubber too much (Experience: 2〜3 years) A good second rubber for beginner-intermediate players

      Reviews by user

I was originally using V20 Extra, but I was struggling to loop against backspin — the ball just wouldn't come up. That's when I found this rubber.
Thanks to the ORC Gear effect, it's easy to lift the ball, and it works really well for pretty much any technique. I'm using it on my forehand now, and since switching to it my range of drives has grown.
Loops don't come easily for me because I'm slim built, but for normal topspin-against-topspin drives it's easy to put power behind. Personally I'd also recommend the V20 and V11, but Ventus Extra is the one I'd really recommend.
Among VICTAS rubbers I think it has power on par with Butterfly's Glayzer.
It's a good choice when moving up from something like the V03 (I came from the V20 myself).

      Used on the backhand, thick
It's easy to attack backspin with, so I'd recommend it for the backhand, but the spin on serves and such feels a bit lacking, and it's easily affected by the opponent's spin.
Still, it's easy to use as an all-around rubber.

Oriman (Experience: 4〜5 years) If it lasted longer, every intermediate should use it!

      Reviews by user

      Using it on my forehand
Topspin drives against topspin bite in solidly
Smashing against backspin drops a little, but a light touch shot works just fine
      Blocks go in too
On the backhand the overall balance is good and stable

      But the durability is scary
With 8 hours of practice a week, it died in a month
Once it's dead you can't do much with it, but I guess the difference in spin actually made blocking harder.
      Recommended for intermediate players

      Using it on my backhand
      - It holds the ball quite a bit, so I never feel like I'm going to net it
      - It doesn't feel like a heavy shot is going out, but you can put spin on it and control the ball well
      - You can produce a loop that's usable in matches
      - It holds the ball too much, so flat hits don't have much pace
      - Since the ball stays on the rubber longer, I felt my arm stretching out as I tried to speed it up
      - Swinging upward makes the ball stay on longer and increases overshoot misses, but if you swing forward while adding spin, the ball flies even without a hard impact
      - The rubber itself feels heavy.
