The new VO > 101 is a very fast and dangerous short pips-out rubber with built-in High Energy Tension Technology. I use this on the forehand short pips side of a Chinese penhold blade, and personally 2.0mm thickness feels just right.
Since it's a tension rubber, even people without much power can get a decent amount of speed on the ball. Light hits are easy to control, and just hitting normal forehand shots naturally produces knuckle balls, but on hard hits the ball flies in a straight line, so you have to close the racket angle a bit or you'll overshoot.
On the other hand, on rainy days, the friction disappears so much you'd think it had turned into an anti-spin rubber, and the ball just won't grip. So in a match where it's sunny in the morning and pouring rain in the afternoon, you end up having to adjust your racket angle match by match, or give up on topspin drives and switch to angle hitting or flat hitting — it turns into an absolute nightmare-mode rubber to use. Even during the warm-up forehand hitting before a match, both you and your opponent start netting the ball, and pushes lose their bite and turn into floating knuckle balls across the board. That said, blocks and short blocks start producing really nasty knuckle balls.
If you play well even on rainy days, you can actually beat higher-ranked players, but you also self-destruct a lot.
I definitely wouldn't recommend this to anyone who wants consistent play no matter the weather.

Using the 1.6mm version.
This is a comparison with Moristo SP. Used on the backhand.
- Speed
The speed is about the same as Moristo, maybe a touch faster.- Knuckle
It doesn't produce as much knuckle as the Chinese-style variation pips, but I think it's easier to get knuckle out of than Moristo.- Bounce
It doesn't fly off the racket as much as I expected. The bounce feels typical of a tension short pips rubber- Spin
It grips the ball more than I expected, but it doesn't give as much reassurance as Moristo
Meeting a backspin ball head-on is a bit on the harder side with this one, I think.
Overall, I think it's a rubber that specializes in speed and knuckle without being too hard to handle.

I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a short pips rubber with nasty, tough trajectories!
It's surprisingly easy to hit topspin drives with, so you can take away the opponent's assumption that "short pips = smash" and attack from all kinds of angles!!All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

I don't think many people use this, but it produces insane knuckle balls.
The speed is surprisingly good too.
Overall it's hard to master, but once you can use it well, it becomes a huge weapon.

Nakagawa Hard to produce knuckle balls

It's hard to naturally produce knuckle balls with this, and it feels more like a speed-oriented rubber. The sponge is soft, so it's easy to control.
