    • Soft sheet with moderate spin capability
    • Comfortable and stable short-range techniques
    • Easy nuckle generation for technique variation

    ■ Representative Voices
▲ PositiveThe rubber collects well on blocks, excels at stops, flicks, and counters, and offers superior control. With its soft sheet and good ball retention, it's a high-performance balanced rubber that wins matches.
▽ CriticalThe slower ball release may lack power unless paired with a harder racket. Generating spin on serves requires careful technique adjustment.

Tomoyan (Experience: 4〜5 years) A short-pips rubber with excellent control Verified Purchase

      Reviews by user

It's vertical pips, but it still puts on a good amount of spin. The sponge is soft, so speed isn't really there. It's a rubber known for its blocking, and that reputation holds up — it really is easy to block with. It doesn't produce knuckle balls on its own very much, but you can get them if you aim for it. It feels like a slightly less bouncy version of the VO103. I think the control is on a really high level among short pips.

Uncle pen table (Experience: 6〜10 years) Not for everyone, but a good rubber Verified Purchase

      Reviews by user

Using the medium-thick version. This rubber is a bit unusual. For a short-pips rubber, the ball holds onto it quite well, so it might not suit everyone. Also, spin doesn't come easily if you just brush the surface — you need to brush in a way that catches the ball to get spin going.
It's a rubber that suits some players more than others, but the blocking feels like classic short pips, and I think the counter against topspin drives really shines. Light taps and short-game control over the table are also quite good.
I plan to keep using this one going forward.

Pine (Experience: 4〜5 years) The rubber that pulled me out of the gear rabbit hole

      Reviews by user

I had Spinpips Thread on my backhand, but I wanted more attacking power and sharper blocks, so I bought the medium-thick version of this.

      Speed: good
      Block: excellent
      Spin: good
      Short game: excellent
      Bounce: good
      Knuckle: fair to good

      Overall a really well-balanced rubber.
Drives went in more consistently than with horizontal-pips rubbers, and above all, the blocking gave me the best control I've had with any short pips, plus good speed too.
Angle shots and similar techniques should also pass muster, as long as your blade isn't so fast that it overpowers the setup.

The one scary thing about it is that it's been discontinued.
There aren't many reviews of this rubber, so I don't think you'll understand how good it is unless you actually put it on your blade.
It's not flashy, but I think it's a rubber that can win you matches.

Shinomasa (Experience: 4〜5 years) Closest to Raystorm

      Reviews by user

I came back to table tennis after 17 years away.
I was in trouble because Raystorm had been discontinued.
I tried Moristo SP, Moristo SPAX, Impartial XB, and Impartial XS, but none of them felt like Raystorm, so they didn't suit me.
I feel like this rubber is the closest to the Raystorm feel.
Backhand drives and blocks are easy to execute,
and when you snap it like a smash, the ball flies off sharply.
The test rubber I tried was the medium-thick version,
and since the feel was good, I bought that same thickness.
Since I'm a guy, considering the weight of the blade, the thick version might have also been fine.
I hope this one doesn't get discontinued too, and I hope this review helps other "Raystorm refugees" like myself.

bewitching cat (Experience: More than 20 years) Balanced type, more stable than quirky

      Reviews by user

      The topsheet is soft.
The feel is similar to VO103 or Moristo SP.
Control is good, and for a vertical-pip rubber it generates a decent amount of spin.
Stops stay short, and flicks come off easily too - probably because the ball grips the sheet for a split second on impact.
Both short and block are extremely stable.
Meeting the ball feels really pleasant. The arc is low and the trajectory is flat, but it still lands where you aim.
Whether you get knuckle balls depends on the player's skill - hitting normally doesn't produce unpredictable balls.
It's a well-balanced short-pips rubber, so it would work on the forehand too.

celebrate (Experience: 6〜10 years) Blazing-fast smash

      Reviews by user

This is my impression using it on a penhold single-ply blade. I've used Hammond FA, Moristo SP, Booster SA, and Impartial XS, but among these, Symmetry's speed when you flick the ball was in a different league. If you swing all the way through, opponents basically can't return it. The spin and knuckle-ball performance are about average. In forehand hitting drills opponents seem to struggle, but in actual rallies it's not quite that dramatic. Either way, the exhilaration of smashing with this rubber was fantastic.

Chabby (Experience: 6〜10 years) Usually I use inverted on both sides, but.

      Reviews by user

I bought this to work on a compact swing and get a feel for meeting the ball cleanly.
My first impression was how soft the pips are - they bend over so much I thought it was somewhere between long pips and short pips. Thanks to that, the transition from a topspin drive into the 5th-ball shot is smooth. I feel like this rubber performs at its best when you swing with just the minimum motion needed.
