I switched over from inverted rubber.
A wrist injury meant I could no longer do the wrist snap that inverted rubber requires, so I switched to short pips.
Moving to short pips changed how I use my wrist, and the pain went away, which was great.
This turned out to be a good rubber to switch to from inverted.
I can keep rallies going not just close to the table but even at mid-distance.
With the right bounce and some adjustment in wrist use, you can still generate plenty of spin.
I'll keep trying different rubbers on my other side, but this one is very easy to handle and has become a favorite of mine.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft

Fuji (Experience: ６〜１０ years) Top-class spin among short pips

These are my impressions from a Nittaku try-out event.
Among short pips rubbers, this definitely has top-level spin, and drives were very easy to hit.
The bounce is about the same as the regular Moristo, and flat hitting is also good.
On the other hand, because it grips the ball so well, it also seemed a bit more affected by the opponent's spin.
It also felt like the knuckle balls that pips are known for were harder to produce.
Since spin is this pips rubber's strength, I think it's a good choice for players who just switched from inverted rubber, or for forehand pips or penhold pips players.
That said, considering the regular Moristo also generates spin and produces knuckle balls, I felt there wasn't much reason to specifically choose the AX version.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

The typical pips-style dead blocks and knuckle-angle shots are hard to pull off with this, and I don't really like that. Serves and drives get amazing spin though. If it leans this close to inverted rubber, I feel like I might as well just use inverted. That said, I lent it to a friend who plays penhold with pips, and he switched to this rubber almost immediately. It really depends on the player - it suits some people. For me, it's easy to hit with, but it's also easy for my opponent to return. That's the kind of rubber I think it is. Anyway, it's just not for me.

Choco Monaka (Experience: ４〜５ years) Great spin and dwell

I used this on my backhand (thick and max thickness).
It's a horizontal-grain pips rubber, so it's a spin-oriented short pips.
Compared to the vertical-grain Moristo SP, it holds the ball better
and backhand topspin drives go in consistently.
It doesn't produce as much knuckle (no-spin) as the Moristo SP, but it doesn't have that typical pips slipperiness either.
I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to rally with spin even on pips.

If you can't put spin on your backhand drive, I think this rubber is a perfect fit.
Even with a mediocre, half-hearted swing that can't generate spin, the ball still lands cleanly, so it was perfect for me since I struggle to put spin on plastic balls and have had a long break from the sport.
The short game is also good, with pushes that carry good spin, stops that hold up really well, and backhand flicks — it's versatile and does it all.
If I had to point out one issue, I felt it doesn't have that one-shot knockout power.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft

It feels similar to using Vega Europe.
It's short pips, but topspin drives and chiquita are totally doable with it.
Backhand serves also got plenty of spin.That said, the sponge is quite soft, so it's hard to produce knuckleballs.
Against an opponent who backs off the table, it's tough to finish points with just the backhand.In terms of spin amount:
Impartial XS > Moristo SP AX > Booster SA

Sankakubuchi Shinjukyou (Experience: ２〜３ years) Stability!

I use this on the backhand. The amount of spin is unbelievable for a short-pips rubber, which makes topspin drives easy to hit. Also, since the ball sits on the rubber well, when a long serve comes to my backhand it's easier to deal with compared to other short pips. That said, it has none of the knuckleball effect you get with something like Moristo SP, so I can't recommend it if you want to play in a classic short-pips style. It's also easy to control, so overall I'm satisfied.
