MA LIN SOFT CARBON has the same outer veneer as the famous EXTRA blade. Its medium soft characteristics is appreciated by players who want increased ball feel.
In SOFT CARBON Yasaka is using a special, very thin Carbon fibre to improve the speed and enlarge the Sweet-spot.
Together with the thicker wooden middle veneer it gives good power.
The combination of the “power part” (carbon+thicker middle veneer) and the softer outer veneer makes Ma Lin SOFT CARBON the perfect choice for power players who need a good ball feel for best performance

Tools Stray (Experience: 11〜20 years) Huge gap

This is basically a 5-ply. The carbon barely comes through at all. It's a really niche kind of performance. But that's exactly what's good about it.

For junior and senior high school students... (Experience: 6〜10 years) Good blade! But...

I'm sure it's a really good blade, but I felt it's a bit picky about which rubber you pair it with.
I tried tacky rubbers like Dig 09C on it, but something felt off compared to other carbon blades. I think you can't go wrong sticking with one of Yasaka's tension rubbers.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

Masamune (Experience: 6〜10 years) Also good with short pips

It suits short pips well too — just like the name says, it has a soft feel.
It still has enough bounce, and the ball-hold is decent, so it's a perfect match for hitting with short pips.
Beyond that, as long as you don't get the weight wrong, you won't go wrong with this one.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

spend (Experience: More than 20 years) High quality. A great-value legendary inner blade

It's been over 15 years since this came out, but the feel is just too good. I've tried all kinds of blades, but I always end up coming back to this one. It really lets today's high-performance rubbers shine. Serves, the short game, drives, blocks — everything is easy. It shows off amazing stability in close matches, against unusual playing styles, or when you're nervous. The quality is better than forcing yourself to use some other brand's expensive blade. It's not for people chasing speed, but it's perfect if you want spin and heavy ball weight, more of a Chinese-style game.

If you like a soft feel, this blade is irresistible.
It has carbon in it, but it still feels like plain wood plywood.
The stability is off the charts.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

fenix (Experience: 4〜5 years) Hit hard, it's fast; hit soft, it's slow

First, some quick impressions from a test hit.
Light hits
Literally, if you hit it lightly you only get a weak ball.
To get a fast ball you need a sharp, fast swing.
Blocking
Maybe because it's a basic 5-ply blade, blocking felt easy.
Drives (speed drive)
A sharp, fast swing gives you a fast drive.
Drives (loop drive)
I'm not great at loop drives so I'll skip that one.
Short-game skills like flicks and pushes
Overall these are easy to do.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

Tomo (Experience: More than 20 years) I had high hopes, but...

I play a pips/inverted combination style, and for the past 10 years or so I've used harder blades like the Hinoki Carbon and Clipper CR.
The Hinoki Carbon started struggling with the plastic ball, and I felt the Clipper had hit its limits in weight and bounce, so this time I picked this blade because it's the one Falck uses.
My conclusion: it really is a very good blade. You can hit good drives even with pips, and angle shots are easy too.
That said, personally the ball sits on the blade a bit too long for my meet-hit-centered style, so I'm skipping past this carbon blade and going straight to the Ma Lin Hard Carbon instead.
*Note: I guess for a soft blade, slightly harder pips like Speedy P.O. are a better match after all. But I can't get on with long pips myself, so...Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Soft
