▲ PositiveAll performance is directed toward control, with moderate spin that makes basic techniques easy to learn. High-quality Butterfly sheet allows beginners to develop spin techniques they need to master.
▽ CriticalLacks spin and doesn't drive well with plastic balls. Insufficient speed makes it easy to be countered; intermediate players find overall performance lacking, requiring upgrade to high-elasticity rubbers within a year.

Raspai (Experience: 4〜5 years) Good spin for a beginner rubber

      Reviews by user

Since it's meant for beginners, the control is naturally excellent, and it also puts good spin on the ball.
I think it's a great choice for your very first rubber.

Naughty (Experience: 4〜5 years) Perfect for learning basic techniques!

      Reviews by user

First of all, I think this rubber is aimed at beginners and women's players. That's because it has great control and is an ideal rubber for learning basic techniques. Even among Butterfly's lineup, it has great control and is really good for people just starting table tennis. This rubber is easy to use even for beginners and has excellent control, so I think it's a great choice!

Table tennis rubber tester hunting researcher (Experience: More than 20 years) If you're using this in a match, I recommend the medium thickness.

      Reviews by user

Among the classic old-school rubbers of table tennis, this one has both spin and speed — basically no weaknesses. It suits players who just want to play a standard attacking game.

This is a good rubber for someone just starting out. It's cheap too. You could start with something from the Sriver series, or start with Safira or Flextra. I started with Flextra.

The topsheet is tacky and the ball doesn't fly off it, so it forces you to swing through the ball yourself, which I think leads to improvement.

Sho-go (Experience: 11〜20 years) Recommendable for beginners, but...

      Reviews by user

This is a rubber that's often recommended for beginners, but I think if you're going to use it, you need a clear goal for doing so.
First of all, compared to today's tension rubbers, it has basically no bounce or spin.
It never does the work for you, so the point of using this rubber is that it forces you to generate your own speed and spin.
Both the topsheet and the sponge are on the soft side, so the ball sinks in easily, which I think makes it easy to become conscious of the feel of hitting the ball — something important in table tennis.
Honestly, it's not a rubber for winning matches; it's a rubber for learning to "hit the ball yourself" and "generate your own spin," so using it for too long might actually hold back your growth. I think it's important that once you've learned what you can learn from this rubber, you move on to a rubber suited for the next step.
That said, even though it has a strong image as a control-oriented rubber for beginners, it has no bad habits and performs well when used close to the table, so depending on how you use it, it could potentially become a rubber you can actually win with.

This is a beginner's rubber. In my own feel, it seems to generate more spin than Sriver.
