The feel isn't hard, but it's surprisingly solid. If you put on an extremely stiff rubber, it might get a bit tricky to handle.

It's basically a reissue of that classic model, and true to that, it stops short in the short game while still having decent bounce when you swing through — that's what makes it great.

The way it holds the ball is spot on, and since the surface is a little hard, even tacky rubber doesn't feel sluggish on it.
I think soft rubber suits it well too. It might actually be more universally suited than the Korbel.

I used to use Hurricane Pro 2 before, and that left such a strong impression that I thought Hurricane in general was hard and didn't fly well, but this one actually bounces reasonably well.

However, according to my coach, who's from China,
"That one's for chopping lolol, just kidding though lol"
    — he said, with dead-serious eyes.
Sure enough, it is easy to control on chops, and I feel like I can cut it as sharp as I want.
Personally, I also like that it's easy to produce knuckle chops.

As for attacking, you really do have to make solid contact or it won't go in lol. Even the guy at a certain famous shop mostly does desperate loops and close-to-the-table counters. I guess that's inevitably what happens with this rubber. The counters really are good though!
I think it's excellent for serve and receive.

Borrowed this from a clubmate, so here's my review.

It felt different from the Shibuya Pro Model I'd used before — though the rubber was different too, so that's part of it — but the chop feels sharp on this one right away.

When attacking, the ball comes out a bit slower than my usual blade, which was a little disappointing, but it's better for control. You might even be able to run Tenergy on the forehand with this.
The long pips on the backhand chop well too, maybe thanks to the weight. The short game feels reassuring as well.

It has a soft sponge, but since it's part of the Sriver series, the sheet is firm. Overall, it's not all that mushy.

If you don't catch the ball properly, it won't fly, but the sponge holds the ball well and the bounce is kept moderate, so back when I was an inverted-inverted chopper I used it on my backhand. It's not easily affected by the opponent's spin, and if you speed up your own swing, you can still get plenty of spin on it.

Attacking is a bit tough with it, though. Since it's soft… it doesn't kick off the ball as well as Sriver or Sriver EL, so it doesn't go forward much….

Right from forehand hitting practice, I was thrown off by how much pop it has for a 5-ply blade.
I've had Hurricane on my forehand before, and I'd say this is a fairly hard blade.

That said, it has a really solid, dense feel at the core (just my personal impression), and it seems to respond well to the swing even when going for hard shots. It doesn't feel like a typical 5-ply wood blade at all. In the short game it bounces more than I expected, but it's within an acceptable range I think.

Tenergy on the backhand was also really well balanced. I never feel like I'm losing out in counters. It's a great blade.
