I thought it would be a spin-type tension rubber, but the ball comes off pretty gently, and my first impression was "this might actually be good."

It kind of reminds me of Mark V lol
The sheet is softer than I expected, and it feels better if you sink the ball in and add spin. That doesn't change even after the switch to plastic balls.

Because of that, personally I didn't find the short game over the table that easy. If you catch the ball thin, the spin doesn't feel like all that much.

I tried chopping with it, but it didn't quite click for me. Then when it receives a strong ball, it suddenly comes alive lol
I'd recommend it to attacking players. It's not hard, so I think you could use it on the backhand too.

It's been a while since this came out, but I still don't think there's another rubber that reproduces that automatic-spin feeling and the way it draws an arc quite like 05 does.

It's overly sensitive to the opponent's incoming spin, so personally it's not something I could really use in a match lol
The way it grips and generates spin without you even having to swing all the way through, and how well it flies, is something you just can't get elsewhere.
For a player who always takes the initiative and can make the ball their own, this will be the perfect partner. It's just expensive though... for the price of one sheet you could have plenty of other nice experiences instead... (lol) And if you put it on both sides, well...

Thanks to German rubbers getting way too heavy and hard, Tenergy has ended up being talked about as if it's not that heavy or hard lol

I'm a chopper, but I love Ma Lin so intensely that I ended up buying this, lol.

It has carbon in it, but you surprisingly don't feel the carbon much. Maybe because the surface veneer isn't that soft? It feels like a slightly hard wooden blade. But once you start hitting with it, you can feel the flex, lol.

I put a fairly hard tacky rubber on my forehand, and it handled it with no issues at all. Spin and speed were both really good. Serves bite well too.
On the backhand I had a soft tension rubber, and that worked great for both attack and defense as well. In other words, you don't need to be too fussy about your rubber choice (just my personal impression).

Compared to the 05, it feels a bit softer. And at medium impact strength, it's noticeably faster than the 05. It gets spin too.

The short game isn't as hard to handle as I expected, and that's where you can really see how high the performance of this rubber is. The chiquita also feels pretty good.

For chops, if you have some distance from the table it felt fine, but it was a bit hard to keep under control. Though it's nice how you can turn the match around in one shot even from far back, lol
I'd recommend it for attacking-style players.

This rubber was softer than I expected.
I first used it on my forehand, but it had a kind of squishy feel that made it hard to use.

Using it on the backhand gave a completely different impression!
There isn't much speed, but it really grabs the ball. When you make contact and follow through fully, it does put on spin. Chiquitas are also easy to do with it. That said, when you brush it thin, the spin isn't all that much. Pushes and stops can sometimes bite incredibly well though lol

If you use a hard blade, it might even work for a chopper. The ball comes off very predictably.
