I played inverted on both sides for a year, but I hit a wall with my backhand and decided to switch to short pips. I was originally thinking of Morristo SP AX, but a senior teammate recommended this rubber instead, and once I tried it, it felt really easy to use. You can use this pips rubber like inverted without any problems, and I found it easy to hit against underspin. If you're switching to forehand pips, I'd recommend this rubber.

If you're thinking about buying this racket, think it over once first. For people who find it comfortable to hold, it's comfortable, but for people who don't, it really won't work for you, so be careful. That said, for the people it does work for, it really works, so if you're confident it'll suit you, I'd recommend buying it. The performance of the racket itself is excellent, so that's not an issue at all.

This is basically the flagship of tension-type short pips rubbers. Among tension rubbers like Impartial, VO102, and Booster SA, this one seems to be the most widely used.
Compared to Impartial it feels a bit more like a typical pips rubber, but it's still spin-oriented, so it should work well even for players switching over from inverted rubber on both sides. I think both men and women can use it well.

This is one of the rubbers you could call a representative of tension-type short pips, alongside Moristo SP.AX, Impartial XS, and VO102. I'd recommend it to anyone who's been using inverted on both sides and is thinking about switching to short pips. Since it's a tension-type rubber, you should adjust quickly even coming from inverted. The rubbers I listed above differ a bit, price included, though honestly most people probably can't tell the difference. There's a big gap in price though: Moristo runs about 6600 yen, Impartial about 5500 yen, the 102 about 5000 yen, and Booster SA is around 4000 yen — with a discount you might even snag it for 2500 yen. It's cheap and high-performing, a fantastic rubber. It's really sad that it's been discontinued.

I'd been using a plain 5-ply blade, but felt it wasn't quite fast enough, so I switched to this one. It's not too expensive either, so even a student can easily afford it. It has a composite layer, but it's still fairly close to a plain 5-ply feel — like a slightly faster version of one. I'd recommend it to anyone thinking about moving up to a composite blade for the first time. At first it feels a little fast, but once you get used to it, it's very easy to play with. Apparently it's similar to the Innerforce ALC. The one drawback is that the grip is a little thin. Not extremely thin, but noticeably thin. A friend who used it said it felt a bit soft too. So I think hard rubbers like Hurricane, Xianglong, or Dignics 09c work well on the forehand. For the backhand, pretty much anything works fine. If you want inverted rubber on both sides, I think Rigan Spin would be good. I personally use short pips on my backhand — Impartial XS — which makes the short game easy. It's slightly handle-heavy, so it feels light overall. That means going with a somewhat heavier rubber is also a good option. Recommended for anyone about to move up to a composite blade.
