This is an all-purpose blade!
Personally, blocking was easy with it!
Everything was well balanced, and control was great!

I hardly get to practice normally, and I only play in matches maybe 2-3 times a year. This blade doesn't bounce too much, and the sensation it sends through your hand suits me well - even when I haven't hit in a while, I still feel like I'm in control. It's a really good blade for an old guy past 50 like me.

I'm not using it anymore now, but a year ago I was using the Maze Advance. Being pure wood, the ball-holding is good, and the hitting sound is high-pitched, which feels great when you're hitting. Also, I'd recommend this blade to people who aren't comfortable holding a heavy blade like the Korbel.
It's incomparably lighter than blades made with special materials, and you can return the ball without getting overpowered by your opponent's shots, so I think it's ideal as a first blade. (I bought mine as my first blade too, on the recommendation of a table tennis shop clerk.)
If you want to hit a more stable ball, I think it's worth getting the 7-ply SK7 Classic instead. The price difference is only around 1,000 yen, so both offer good value for money.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

This is quite light among Butterfly blades. I think it's good for people who feel uneasy about heavier blades like the Korbel. It fits my hand really well and I like it a lot.
Being light gives you these advantages, I think:
- Your swing recovers quickly, and switching between forehand and backhand is fast too
- You can swing at max swing speed right from the start
- It's easier on your shoulders and lower backIf you put on something like Sriver EL it doesn't bounce much, so that's good for beginners; if you put on an entry-level tension rubber like Rigan, it bounces just the right amount while staying controllable, which is good for lower-level players; and once that's not enough anymore, I think you can put on higher-performance rubber and go all the way up to intermediate level.

It's easy to use, but I don't think it produces much speed or spin. That said, it's light so it's easy to hold, and being a flared handle it's also good in that it doesn't slip out of your hand. I felt it's a perfect fit for beginners through intermediate players!

This is a 5-ply blade with no quirks. If a beginner is starting table tennis, I'd definitely recommend this blade without hesitation. Blades from SWAT or Donic are good options too. As for rubber, there's basically no rubber that doesn't match it. If anything, softer rubbers might be a little tough to pair with it. Things like C-1 or Rigan Spin, for example. But they're still usable to some extent. I think the Hurricane series would probably suit it too. Personally, I'd want this as a backup blade.

Last time I had a thinner 6mm Swat and I didn't like the feel and kept getting overpowered, so I gave up my pride in 7-ply blades and bought the 6.7mm Mace Advance. It's amazing. It's lightweight but still bounces solidly, and I don't get overpowered. The ball does end up feeling a bit lighter, sure, but because of the thickness I don't get pushed back by my opponent's shots. Since it's wood, the ball-holding is good too - the value for money was perfect.
