    Customer Reviews SummaryAI Summary
This racket is characterized by its lightweight and hard feel, suitable for penhold players and attacking styles with short pimple rubbers. It is widely supported by beginners to intermediate players for its good value and ease of use.
    ■ Frequently Mentioned Points
    • Lightweight and easy to swing through, suitable for players without much power
    • Excellent compatibility with inverted and short pimple rubbers
    • Hard hitting feel with fast initial speed and excellent control performance
    • Appropriate bounce and quick ball release from smoked wood processing
    • Well-balanced performance for the price
    ■ Representative Voices
▲ PositiveGreat balance of performance for the price, with a small face that feels good in hand even for people with smaller hands. Lightweight with fast swing-through and racket changes, making it ideal for penhold players.
▽ CriticalNot suitable for absorbing opponent's power in defensive shots, requiring aggressive attacking play. Not recommended for backhand loops with inverted rubber, and can produce a hollow popping sound when hitting.

Monitan. (Experience: 11〜20 years) Great value = TSP

      Player reviews

This really is TSP for you.
For the price, the balance of performance is really great.
The head is on the smaller side and the grip is slim, so even with my small hands, it feels really good to hold.
It's also light — mine weighed 74 grams — so swinging through and switching between shots is fast.
It's perfect for Chinese penhold users.
The feel is a bit hard, the initial speed is fast, and the trajectory is fairly flat, but since the bounce is just right, control is good.
I'd recommend it for a close-to-the-table style that pushes at a fast pace.
As for rubber, it seems to go well with short pips of course, but also with fast inverted rubber at medium thickness.
If you're a Chinese penhold player with a close-to-the-table style, you might not need anything more expensive than this.
I'd also recommend it for kids and women.

Masato Tanaka 00 Just the right hardness

      Player reviews

Since it's smoke-treated, it still has good bounce.

On top of that, it doesn't get overpowered by the opponent's spin, so it seems like it would suit short pips too.

It's also on the lighter side, so it seems like something I could recommend to people who aren't confident in their power.

Gratulations (Experience: 6〜10 years) Worth trying for short-pips users

      Player reviews

      Good points
      - Lightweight
      - Swings through nicely
      - Doesn't fly too far (stays in well)
      - Ball comes off cleanly
      - Just the right amount of rebound
      - Some sensation comes through to the hand

      Points of concern
      - The sound and feel on contact are a bit dull/hollow
      - Not well suited to using or absorbing the opponent's power
(basically, unless you're the one initiating the shot, you can't create variation and it tends to become monotonous)
      - When you're pushed off the table or have to lift the ball from below, instead of grazing it you end up more just laying it on the ball (you can't expect much spin)

      Overall this suits short-pips players.
I tried moving from single-sided short pips on Japanese penhold to short-pips/inverted on Chinese penhold, and thanks to the light weight the transition was easy.
The change in feel from using rubber on both sides (unlike single-sided, you lose that "pass-through" feeling and the contact feel becomes a bit more muted) also felt relatively minor.

Grand Duke 07 (Experience: 6〜10 years) Just the right bounce and spin!

      Player reviews

You can swing through it plenty well even with mid-penhold inverted-on-both-sides. Also, since the wood is processed, it still gives you good bounce. If you're not a fan of special-material blades but still want some resilience, this one's for you!

Tanaka 0569 Hard, bouncy, and light

      Player reviews

      Great value for money!

Also, the combination of its just-right lightness with a softer tension rubber is an outstanding match!

I really want anyone who's struggling with their game (and looking for equipment that suits them) to at least consider giving this a try!!

Kotaro (Experience: 6〜10 years) For short-pips play

      Player reviews

Like other reviewers have mentioned, my impression is that this blade suits short pips and half-long pips rubber. The feel is hard, and the ball comes off very quickly. It's not the type that gives you a lot of distance, so it's probably not a good fit for players who want to do inverted-rubber topspin rallies.
For shakehand players, I'd picture a style with inverted rubber on the forehand for loop drives and hitting, and short pips or half-long pips on the backhand for hitting and knuckle balls.
For mid-penhold, I think it suits short pips close-to-the-table attacking on the front, with the lighter feel working well on the reverse side too.
There's one quirk to this blade: it's a bit thick, and it doesn't flex. Because of that, long pips rubber takes some skill to absorb the ball's power with. It's more about bending the pips to let the power dissipate while stopping the opponent's ball with the center of the pip. Adding side tape balancers around the edge would help.
This blade would also suit a backhand player who blocks with a short, punchy stroke.
It's a bit of a specialized tool for a first blade, so I think it's a good option if you're aiming for a speed-over-spin style of table tennis.

It's just really light. I think this blade suits short pips well. With inverted rubber, it feels like the rubber's natural grip on the ball is toned down a bit.
