    BATTLE BALSA from Yasaka is a new blade produced in the famous blade factory in Tranås, Sweden.
    Several players appreciate blades including the balsa material, because of the low weight, but also because of the special feel in the ball touch. However, some players find traditional balsa-blades too slow.
    In the BATTLE BALSA Yasaka has combined the best balsa-quality with Scandinavian pine to produce a faster blade, but still with a low weight. The special feeling of a “self playing blade” is of course still there.

      This is a very light blade.
      The core ply is balsa, so you'd expect a weak, light shot, but surprisingly it produces a solid ball.
      It's more satisfying than some mediocre 5-ply blades.
      It would be nice if it had a bit more bounce and speed, but since it's light and easy to swing through, I think you can make up for that with swing speed.
      It just lacks a bit of personality, though...
      There's nothing that really stands out about it, so I'd recommend it for beginners, kids, or women looking for a light blade...

      A lot of people probably think "balsa" when they hear Yasaka. This is a really easy racket to use — the bounce is just right and the ball comes off the blade at exactly the right moment! The weight is nice too, so even people without much power can use it!

      This is my first post.

      I'd been using Butterfly's Chang Pon Long, but decided to switch to a Chinese penhold blade, so I bought this.

      My first impression hitting with it: I'd been using a single-ply blade with a fairly hard rubber before, and this one doesn't bounce as much as I expected.
      That said, thanks to that lack of bounce, I find the short game, like pushes, easier to do.

      The blade itself is very light, so it might be a good option for people who want to put rubber on both sides.
