NO.1 table tennis review site

I was looking for a thick blade that's easy to block with, and I landed on this one.
The feel on contact, meet-hitting, speed drives, and blocking are all outstanding.
If I had to pick a weakness, pushes are a little harder to do, but I'd really recommend it to anyone whose game is mainly built around topspin rallies.
The Hinoki top ply is thicker than on other Galaxias, so the feel on contact is noticeably softer too.
You can really rip loop drives with this one.
It's pricey, but I don't think there's another blade out there that delivers on speed, spin, and feel all at once like this one does.

After going through several blades, this is the one I personally feel most comfortable hitting with of all time.
I originally used a single-ply penhold blade, and I loved that comfortable feel of single-ply wood — this one feels close to that.
I can't really say what its "hardness" rating would be, but the feel on contact is definitely "soft."
Even among ZLC blades, the Timo Boll ZLC felt a bit harder on contact by comparison.
It bounces well and generates good speed, but I've never felt like it was hard to put spin on. Maybe because of the Shoryu/Kiryu rubber I have on it, the short game isn't a struggle either.
I'm satisfied with this blade across the board — if I lose with it, I can accept that it's on me.

Since the Amultart got discontinued, I went looking for something similar and ended up with this blade.
On light hits, it felt like it bounces less than the ALC.
On hard hits, it's very ZLC-like, tracing a flatter, more line-like trajectory with a low arc, and even though I was hitting with tension rubber, it felt like hitting with tacky rubber.
In the end, just like the title says, I felt this blade is a dead ringer for the Amultart.
If you can hit from a stable stance, it seems capable of scoring untouchable points with hard-to-read shots.
If your stance breaks down when you hit, I think you'll tend to net the ball.
As for spin, with thicker rubber you really need to focus on the grazing sensation, or both serves and drives are hard to put spin on.
It's basically a close-to-the-table blade that's strong on counters and smashes, but the bounce is good enough that you can still fight back even from further away.

If you have good touch and feel for the ball, I think you can make full use of this blade.
Even if you don't, if you're used to the feel of special material blades, it might be worth trying.

The material is supposedly the same as the Almtart, but maybe due to individual variation, the feel came across a bit softer than the Almtart.
Compared to the Mizutani ZLC, since the special material sits closer to the core, the feel is on the softer side, though it still flies far because of the blade thickness.
Compared to Butterfly's 5-ply special material blades, I feel like this one is better for players who prioritize smashing.
The speed is better than that of 5-ply special material blades.
On the flip side, it doesn't seem great for shots that don't involve a strong impact, like pushes, stops, or serve returns, though you might stop noticing it once you get used to it.
It should come in handy against a stubborn chopper.

A blade Niwa used to play with before.
It's a renamed version of the "Amultart."

As for its current name, "Garaydia":

Garaydia

GA = Galaxy Accelerator
(a galaxy-class accelerating device)

Ray = (light, ray)

Dia (to pass through)

Putting these three words together is supposed to give the image of
"a ray piercing through the universe at high speed."

It's a 3-ply blade made with hinoki using 2 sheets of ZLC, with a blade thickness of 7.1mm...

Just hearing that makes it sound like it'll send the ball flying, but the ply construction is actually on the softer side, and the ball-holding feel isn't too bad either.

On soft hits it doesn't bounce much, but the ball suddenly picks up speed when you hit hard.

The trajectory is a bit flat, but that doesn't mean loop drives are hard to pull off.

Blocks also come back fast and sharp, so you can easily counter your opponent's drive with just a small push timed to it.

I think it pairs well with medium-hardness or firmer rubbers.

It's a wild-horse of a blade that changes character depending on the impact, but I'd say its potential is second to none.
