I see a lot of reviews written in a way that's convenient for the reviewer, which makes them hard to actually use as a reference, so I'm being pretty strict here.
For an outer-carbon blade, the feel on contact is soft,
and it's on the easier side for both putting spin on the ball and controlling it.
Speed is there too, in a typical outer-carbon way.That said, it doesn't really stand out in speed, spin, or control specifically.
So I'd put it in the category of
"a well-balanced blade."
Still, for a well-balanced type, this thing is on the heavy side.
Mine came in at 88g.
I think that's about average,
but the target audience for this blade seems oddly narrow to me.
Junior high schoolers are mostly still on wood blades,
or on inner-carbon blades that don't bounce much anyway.Adults, meanwhile, tend to go for equipment with real power, or gear chosen to cover a weakness or push a strength, rather than balance.
So I really think this is meant for players who are already skilled.
It can do anything, but in return, you need to be able to do anything too.
I wouldn't say I'm relying on the blade here.
I've also seen reviews saying the grip is thin,
but personally I don't feel that way at all — it feels good in my hand.

I've used the Timo Boll ALC before, and personally I like the Freitas better than the Timo Boll. It was really easy to put spin on the ball. I also felt the ball holds slightly better than on the Timo Boll.

It's a really high-performance blade, but for someone who plays close to the table, if playing away from the table is worth 100 points, this is only worth about 30 to 40 for you. If you don't play back from the table, there's not much point in buying it, so I'd say don't. And switching to the Freitas isn't a reason to start playing further back either, so buying it would probably just be a waste of money in that case. That said, for players who do play back from the table, I think this is a really great blade.

The ball flies off before the spin really grabs, so I've been timing my strokes a bit later to get the spin on properly.

It has really great bounce, and at first I had a lot of shots go long, but once I made sure to put proper spin on the ball to keep it on the table, everything settled down, and now it has enough consistency to hold up in rallies. Serves get plenty of spin too and feel really good.

I bought it based on the grip design and expected performance.
It's living up to my expectations and performing great.
Powerful shots on both wings are a given, but it's also excellent for delicate play.
I feel it's easy to vary the pace of my shots with it.
