This was originally made with a Mace-style ply construction that's a bit on the thick side.
It holds the ball better than the Timo Boll ALC. And the control is comparatively good.

Personally, I feel the Freitas ALC's performance is close to the Timo Boll ALC's — the feel is great, and smashes and drives are fast. On top of that, the spin is pretty decent too. It's high-performance and excellent.
It also pairs well with the Tenergy series.
It's amazing enough that saying its overall rating is a 15 (out of 10) wouldn't be an exaggeration.

I used to use the Timo Boll ALC, but when I tried the Freitas ALC, it flies really well, it's easy to put spin on, and it's fast too!
The ball flies with a nice, solid arc.
When I hit from mid-distance, even a light shot goes in.

if you get the ball to grip and hit through it, this blade feels amazing

This is truly the perfect blade for me. It has great speed and amazing spin, and the way drives extend forward is incredible. Fine techniques and serves are easy too. The feel seems a bit on the soft side — even with Tenergy 05 on it, it felt slightly soft.
