Both Tenergy 05 on my forehand and Hurricane on my backhand are spin-focused, so they suit this blade well.
The combo of Tenergy for attacking and Hurricane for stable blocking is the strongest setup there is.

I'll get straight to the point: this Korbel has amazing synergy with rubber. Like other reviews say, the match with Rozena is outstanding - it feels like Rozena brings out the Korbel's full potential. The Korbel itself has decent speed, but it's not speed-focused - it's well balanced, and the rubber fills in the rest. Same with spin. Tacky rubber doesn't seem like a great fit for it. As for weight, it felt heavy at first, though that depends on what blade you used before - give it about a week and you'll get used to it. It holds its own against composite blades - it flies well and lets you hit with real power. It's easy to control too, so max-thickness rubber works fine on it. You can dial it in nicely. Highly recommended. I'd say it's a "graduate from beginner, aim for intermediate" kind of blade.

This is a blade I bought back when I was a beginner.
It didn't fly too much, so it was easy to use, but then after I bought a composite blade I was shocked at how light it felt.
So I think it's best to treat the Korbel like strength training.
Honestly, there's not much a composite blade can do that the Korbel can't, so
it just feels like extra weight for no benefit these days, and I don't think it's a great blade for the current era.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

This is a heavy blade. Because of that, I feel like a lighter rubber works better with it. The feel on contact is nothing special, neither good nor bad. It makes a nice, crisp "pon-pon" sound. The grip is flared, so it's easy to hold and feels stable. But if I had to point out a downside, it's definitely the weight - it's tough for middle schoolers like myself who don't have much power. That said, you can expect powerful shots that take advantage of the extra weight. It kind of feels like it turns its downside into an upside.

There are countless table tennis blades out there, but I think they can broadly be split into two types: "blades that help you win" and "blades that keep you from losing." With composite blades being the mainstream, I imagine a lot of users switched to carbon because "I can't win with the Korbel," but by that same logic, plenty of people also switch to the Korbel because "carbon flies too much and makes me lose." For the first group, the Korbel gets terrible reviews, but for the second group, it gets top marks. Boxer Floyd Mayweather is both 50-0 and undefeated in 50 fights, so whoever's reading this review, go build your own unbeaten legend with the Korbel too! (I've already lost plenty of matches myself, so I'll leave that dream to you!)

Butterfly discontinues and then re-releases blades a lot, and a lot of their lineup is composite or wood blends that lean composite, but the Korbel is the one that really has that pure wood feel and the kind of response you'd expect from wood!
It's a little heavy, but it's more than usable up through intermediate level, and I think it's a great blade!

When it comes to wood 5-ply blades, this is one that almost always gets mentioned alongside the Acoustic, Allrounder Evolution, and SWAT.
In practice, it has a nice amount of bounce and grips the ball well. Hitting, spinning, driving through, stopping - it's well suited to learning the basics. It doesn't pick and choose rubbers either, pretty much anything works. It's a versatile blade that suits any playing style.
That said, I wouldn't recommend it to beginners who lack power.
That's because the weight is relatively high.
There's individual variation, but some units go over 90g.
Also, the grip flares out more than you'd expect, so ST or CO handles are easier to hold than FL.
The sound it makes when you hit the ball is a love-it-or-hate-it thing - unlike the trendy composite blades, it makes a dull "poko-poko" sound (though you could say that's just typical of orthodox wood 5-ply blades).
