The new VICTAS VS > 401 rubber offers the perfect balance between a tacky control rubber and a variable offensive rubber. It's hard, but if you're someone who can use a rubber like Hurricane (someone who can catch the ball thick, with good contact), I think you can handle it even without a lot of power.
Its spin performance is excellent, so it's easy to lift backspin balls, and since it's a chopper-oriented rubber, it's easy to overwrite the opponent's spin.
I'm not a chopper myself, but since it doesn't bounce much, it's stable, and I think chiquitas, pushes, and stops are all really easy to do with it.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

Exactly as the title says. I've got it on the forehand side of my Joo Se-hyuk blade, and I think it's a really good rubber. Drives bounce pretty well, yet when you chop, it's held down really well — it's almost dream-like performance (lol). Pushes are also the easiest I've had out of anything I've used! If I had to name one downside, it'd be the weight... (lol) I've got the 2.0mm version on my Joo Se-hyuk blade, so it's seriously heavy lol. But even on a bouncy blade, it can properly hold down the opponent's power, so I recommend it!

It's easy to put spin on, and serves and chops were easy to do too!
As you'd expect, if you drop back too far, it does get harder to land your drives,

I heard Koji Matsushita was involved in developing this, so I tried it out.
My chopping swing is the old-fashioned type with a big follow-through and a bit of a forward push, so with recent rubbers the ball always ends up floating.
When I chopped on my forehand with the VS401...
it felt just like the old Tackiness D I used to use!
Neither chops nor pushes fly on this at all, so it was tough at first, but once I got used to it, it felt amazing to use!

It's easy to put heavy backspin back into your opponent's topspin, and a good topspin works the same way against your opponent's backspin. It's not well suited for lobbing though. It's a good fit for a modern defensive game.

For regular forehand hitting, drives, and smashes, it bounces and generates so much speed that you'd wonder "is this really meant for chopping?" — yet when you chop, it holds the ball in on the opponent's side without overshooting, whether against loops or hard hits. It's a rubber with really good control.
On the same blade, I've tried a range of chopping rubbers, from bouncier ones like the VS402 and the lively Morrist DF, to more defensive, low-bounce options like Tackiness C and Chinese rubbers, but I found this one the best balanced — it keeps chopping stability while still giving you offensive power.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Hard

At first I thought it might be inverted rubber, but it turned out to be tacky lol. As for chopping, it was easy to keep the ball under control. I tried smashing a ball my opponent popped up, but that was hard to do.
