It doesn't get affected much by the opponent's spin, so I think it's ideal for flat hitting.
On the flip side, generating your own spin takes some work too, so it kind of evens out.
Still, in this era dominated by spin-heavy tension rubbers, a "quirky" rubber like this is interesting to have around.

This rubber sits right on the border between being a tension rubber and a high-elasticity one.
The control is good, but you really need to develop the feel for putting spin on the ball.

This is one of Nittaku's long-selling rubbers, around for more than 15 years now.
Back in the day, pairing this or the beefed-up Pro α with Chuck was pretty standard. (Brings back memories.)It's soft yet still flies well, so it's a rubber I'd recommend to people who like to hit flat off the backhand.
That said, I don't think it's suited to beginners.
The price puts it in that bracket, but the trouble is it's hard to put spin on. I thought that even back in the day, and since the switch to plastic balls it feels even harder to spin.
Simple, high-elasticity rubbers like Sriver or Mark V are easier for beginners to use to learn the fundamentals of "hitting, flicking, and stopping."If you're past the beginner stage, or an intermediate player without much raw power who likes to stop, flick, and attack off the backhand, there's no harm in using this.
A carbon blade suits it, and if you have a bit of power, a 7-ply wood blade would work fine too.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft
