With the new Rakza PO Yasaka has developed a short pimpled out rubber. Offering increased spin capacity, due to the shape of the pimpled geometry and the use of more natural gum in the top sheet.

I used this on an Aqua Blade.
Overall there's no technique that feels hard to do, but since it has a horizontal grain pattern, the knuckle effect isn't that strong. Compared to inverted rubber it does produce knuckle balls, but you have to actively create the knuckle effect yourself to make your opponent miss.
For receiving, even inverted-rubber-style strokes work fine.
In terms of spin with a horizontal grain pattern, I'd rank it as

I'd recommend this for forehand short pips. You can do pretty much anything with it. It gives you that classic short-pips knuckle ball too, so I think it's great!

I'd never used short pips before, so I decided to try it. My table tennis friends told me I'd regret it, but
once I tried it, my control on topspin drives, chops, blocks, flicks, etc. improved dramatically. The ball leaves the rubber fast so recovery is fast too, and what surprised me was that my chiquita got faster and curved even more. The problem is that smashes are slower than with other short pips rubbers, and if you block, you get flicked with an ordinary-looking return.
The best part is that if you do a drive-fake into a push knuckle after a drive, your opponent nets it about 80% of the time.
I also use Rakza Z on the other side and switch between them. Since they're such different types, timing seems hard to adjust to. The way I hit with it is almost the same as with Rakza 7 Soft and Rakza X, and the push effect is even better. Yasaka's catalog rates it as speed 9, spin 9, but I'd rate the spin anywhere from 0 to 12 depending on how you use it.
Since it has a horizontal grain pattern, I was worried about sidespin, but sidespin isn't a problem either.
For beginners, how about this as your second rubber? It's a rubber you can use on forehand or backhand. Next I'm going to try switching between Rakza PO and max-thickness Rakza X Soft on an Arnaid.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

I'm a junior high boy using short pips on my backhand. You can hit it like inverted rubber. No need to change your form. Speed is normal, but the spin is amazing. It grips the ball a lot. It feels like it grips more than the Sriver EL I borrowed from a friend. The ball just keeps rising and rising. I'd recommend this as a first short pips rubber for people switching from inverted to short pips.
I sometimes hit forehand too, so I'll write about that as well. (I use it forehand against choppers.)
Forehand feels different from inverted rubber. It doesn't rise as much as inverted rubber. (That's normal for short pips though.) It really feels like "the" short pips rubber. The spin is still amazing.In conclusion, it's a rubber with a lot of personality.

This rubber is insane!!
First off, it's way too strong against choppers lol
It produces really nasty shots.
The spin is consistent too.
Great balance.
Good speed too.

I've been playing table tennis for about 10 years, but I've only been using backhand short pips for about half a year, so take this for what it's worth.
This is a comparison with the VO-102.
I used the 1.8mm version of both Rakza PO and VO-102.
Below are my impressions after switching from VO-102 to Rakza.○ Spin: VO-102 > Rakza PO
The spin on loop drives in particular dropped off.○ Speed: VO-102 > Rakza PO
I noticed the difference most on flat hits, but honestly either one is fine if you're going for a clean winner.○ Ball-holding: VO-102 > Rakza PO
The ball seemed to leave the Rakza's surface faster.○ Control: VO-102 = Rakza PO
I think control is about the same between the two. Since VO-102 produces more speed while Rakza tends to produce knuckle balls, some players might find Rakza a bit harder to control.○ Nastiness (to the opponent): VO-102 << Rakza PO
Personally, this is the point I liked the most. With VO-102, the ball tended to come back easy to hit once it turned into a rally, but with Rakza it easily turns into a knuckle ball during rallies, which opponents hated. For a tension short-pips rubber, I think this produces quite a lot of arc.
In situations where a normal short pips would catch the net, this rubber still draws an arc and clears it.Spin performance is maybe about the same as Booster SA?
Speed is maybe about the same as Booster EV.
Control performance feels quite high.I'd recommend it for intermediate-and-up close-to-the-table fast-attack players.
