A friend gave me a barely-used one they weren't using anymore, so I switched from Rasanter R47 UM to Impartial XS thin.
My first impression of short pips was always "the ball drops," but I honestly can't remember it dropping during rallies. I also tried chopping returns, and by matching the angle I could return the ball consistently. It takes on a decent amount of spin, so of course I could hit drives and a variety of other shots too.
Meeting the ball works fine too, but if you get the timing of your impact wrong, it can turn into an easy setup ball for the opponent. I think that's just me not being used to pips yet, though.
Even I, who had been swinging inverted rubber my whole life, could handle switching to this without any trouble, so I think it's a really easy-to-use, good rubber.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

I mainly use this on my forehand. It's a strange rubber. When you want to put spin on it, it grips the ball properly, and when you smash it the ball comes off fast and drills into the opponent's court. Basically breaking the speed limit lol.
You can't hit a really powerful drive, but loop drives are pretty stable. It picks up more of the opponent's spin than a vertical-pip rubber would, but if you keep contact time short, the quick ball release makes blocks, drives, and returning chops easy, and since it's fast, the opponent seems to have a hard time getting it back too.
I'd recommend this rubber to people who feel off with the grip of tension-type inverted rubbers, or anyone thinking of switching from inverted to pips.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

I used this on my backhand.
No worries at all about spin! Pushes and hitting underspin grip like crazy lol. I thought I'd feel the opponent's spin a lot on receive, but surprisingly I barely notice it, so it's easy to use.
The downside: there's zero of that classic short-pips "hard to read" effect lol, and it's really heavy lol.
But the ball comes off so fast it's basically breaking the speed limit, so instead of struggling to read it, you're just struggling to get your racket on it. I'd recommend this one for a power-oriented backhand pips player rather than someone relying on variation!All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

I heard it doesn't slip, so I tried it out.
It's not that fast, but the grip on the ball is so good you'd think it wasn't even short pips - it never slips and drops the ball, and you can put topspin drives on it almost like inverted rubber. It's a strange one.
Trust me and give it a try just once!

Hoshi Kiwiuchi (Experience: ４〜５ years) Serve spin you'd mistake for inverted rubber

I've got this on the forehand of a reverse-penhold blade. Serves in particular grip spin almost as much as inverted rubber. The first time I switched to this rubber and practiced with my coach, I was able to put so much spin on my serves that my coach thought I'd switched to inverted rubber.
Naturally, drives during rallies are the same way, and it's also gotten easier to drop back and trade topspin drives.
That said, the ball leaves the rubber a bit slower than a typical short pips rubber (like the Spectrum), so it is somewhat more affected by the opponent's spin, but that's offset by the benefits.It almost never turns into an accidental knuckle ball, but you can definitely produce one on purpose if you want to. If you want to use the knuckle ball as a weapon, I'd recommend the XB instead.
Durability might be a little weak — after a month of use, a few of the pips have already chipped. I'm planning to use it a bit longer and then try the max-thickness version of the same rubber.

This is insane. I'm using it as short pips on my forehand, and the amount of spin is amazing! There's a limit to how much you can brush a drive like you would with inverted rubber, but if you hit thick, drives can actually outdo inverted rubber! When you can't get a clean meet-hit in, it's reassuring that you can still throw in a heavy-spin drive and keep things stable! That said, as short pips go, it's fairly affected by incoming spin, so if you want to play a more typical short-pips style, I'd recommend the XB instead.
