STIGA Genesis II Spin is a spin oriented updated version of the original STIGA Genesis. Genesis II Spin combines the best of the major table tennis cultures into one rubber. It has a potent synthesis of Japanese/STIGA developed OCS-technology, Swedish knowledge and a new ultra spinny elastic top sheet made in China. The new tacky top sheet is developed specially for the ABS-ball in order to create maximum spin. Genesis II Spin is also sustainably developed to increase the durability and life expectancy of the rubber. The soft sponge gives a high pitch sound and incredible spin and touch.

I've been curious about this rubber for a long time.
I kept waiting to see if someone would post a review,
but no one ever did,
so I couldn't wait any longer and bought it myself.True to what was said about the old version,
the topsheet is Chinese-made tacky rubber.
I figured that to lean it toward tension, it'd only have the faintest bit of tack, like a Spinart,
but it actually has a bit more than that.
I'd call it lightly tacky.
It has that sticky, clingy feel.I put it on my forehand.
Light hits definitely have that tacky feel —
the bounce is a bit subdued,
but it's also soft,
so it's not like the ball doesn't fly at all.Drives are really easy to hit.
Because it's soft, the ball sinks right in
and gets wrapped up nice and snug.
High-level players might find it lacking
in speed and spin,
but for players who can't get along with harder tacky rubbers —
beginners and intermediate players —
it was just the right balance.
Rather than saying it doesn't fly, I'd describe it as the ball settling in well.
My overshoot misses went down. Thanks to the tackiness, the spin is more than your average rubber,
though it's not the kind that just rips through with a snap.Overall it felt like a well-balanced, easy-to-handle tacky rubber.

Uncle pen table (Experience: 6〜10 years) Easy-to-handle tacky rubber

I use this on the reverse side of my penhold, in max thickness.
Both the sheet and sponge are soft, and it doesn't really feel like a typical Chinese tacky rubber, but that odd, mushy feel off the ball is pure tacky rubber all the same.
It doesn't produce much speed, but even a desperate block or a meaty hit will naturally arc and land on the table by itself. It also bounces oddly and then carries afterward.
The way it holds onto the ball while blocking is amazing.
Given these traits, I'd say it's less a forehand rubber and more one for a player who wants a stable backhand.
That said, as I mentioned, the feel off the ball is mushy and not for everyone. It reminds me a bit of the feel from long ago, when people would apply a thin coat of speed glue to Tackiness C. There isn't much satisfaction in the feel. All Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft

I switched from the 401 and Vega China, putting the 2.0mm on my pips side. I used it in a match without any time to get used to it, but chopping was really easy.
That said, I couldn't put as much spin on the ball as I expected, and my pushes ended up floating (though that may be a technique issue on my part). As for serves, maybe because it doesn't bounce much, I was able to keep them low.
As for attacking, smashes were slow and lost momentum, so pretty much every one got returned. I don't think I can recommend it to a chopper who wants to focus on attacking. All Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft
