    Thanks to the hinoki (Japanese cypress) it's made from,
    this racket has a great feel and is genuinely satisfying to hit with.
    That said, at 7mm it's on the thick side,
    so despite the soft feel,
    on paper it falls into the "hard" category.
    This contrast is really interesting.
    If you want a hard racket for more power
    but can't stand the feel
    of most hard rackets,
    definitely give this one a try.

    Also, despite being a thick 7-ply blade,
    a lot of the individual blades weigh around 80g,
    so the swing feels great.
    And it's not like it feels flimsy or hollow either —
    you can definitely hit with confidence.

    Thick blades tend to get
    the image of being
    smash-oriented,
    but you can generate plenty of power on your drives too.

    Flex and ball-holding are often talked about
    as essential qualities
    for a drive player's racket,
    but those very traits —
    that springy, popping feel
    and the vibration you feel in your hand —
    might just not suit
    some people, right?

    For anyone who got swept up
    by internet hype and ended up chasing
    special-material blades plus Tenergy only to be disappointed,
    I'd especially recommend this kind of
    high-quality, high-performance, well-balanced
    racket.

    That certain brand's inner series
    is expensive, but this one has similar performance for a lower price.
    It would've been great if you could choose the grip shape,
    but it only comes in Flare — probably another way they keep the cost down.
    The performance is pretty much what you'd expect from the ply construction, so if that's what you're after, it's worth picking up.

    With hard tension rubbers on both sides,
    you easily go over 195g. As a result, it's hard to fully swing through unless you're in a good position.

    With a lighter, softer tension rubber,
    you can keep the weight down,
    but the attacking power suffers.

    If you're assuming you'll use glue,
    it might be fine,
    but with a fair (glue-free) combination,
    it might be tough to put together a good setup.

    Given how reasonable the price is, the performance is excellent.
    It consistently produces good quality shots in both speed and spin, which I really liked.
    The sheet is soft and grips the ball well, but it's not too soft, and I don't feel any loss of power at all.
    The Q series is strictly for advanced players, but this one works for anyone.
    It's a bit similar to Rakza 7 Soft,
    but Rakza has a firmer sheet
    with a softer sponge — the GFT40 gives the opposite impression. Because the sponge has more backbone, hitting/flicking shots are also good.

    Truly a good feeling, you could say.

    I saw some reviews saying it flies too much and so on,
    but that turned out to be needless worry.
    This is a really good blade.

    Before this, I was using
    the Wa no Kiwami Ao,

    but I tried switching from
    a flexible 5-ply wood blade
    with a harder rubber
    ↓
    to a blade made with a fast, springy material
    with a softer rubber,

    and it turned out to be a perfect match.

    I think it's better to get your speed from the blade itself.
    If you're on the fence, definitely give it a try.

    As for the Wa no Kiwami, I got played by its marketing hype...
