It's vertical pips, but it still puts on a good amount of spin. The sponge is soft, so speed isn't really there. It's a rubber known for its blocking, and that reputation holds up — it really is easy to block with. It doesn't produce knuckle balls on its own very much, but you can get them if you aim for it. It feels like a slightly less bouncy version of the VO103. I think the control is on a really high level among short pips.

The Hybrid K3 has a slightly tacky sheet, so it grips the ball really well and makes hitting against backspin very easy. The FX version has a moderately soft 48-degree sponge that still gives you plenty of pace, so the ball stays on the rubber longer, which makes it ideal for a forehand on a beginner/intermediate setup or a backhand for advanced players. The sheet also feels solid, and I was able to return the opponent's hard hits without losing out. The weight is about the same as the Quantum X Pro — even at max thickness it's fairly light, so it's easy to handle. Overall, it's a rubber that lets you play every technique at a high level, though the price is a bit high and I'm a little worried about how long it will last.

I've tried a bunch of different long pips, and among them the Curl P1V has an insanely sharp bite on chops. It's low-elasticity so it doesn't produce much speed or distance, but in exchange it stops the ball incredibly well. As a shakehand backhand pips setup with relatively soft pips, you can catch the ball and actually attack with it, and it's also easy to add variation. If I had to point out a downside, pushing against backspin is hard and takes a knack. For the blade, a thinner ply with a harder top sheet works best. With a fast/lively blade, I think controlling the ball becomes difficult.

The package says it's a pro-spec rubber, but even an intermediate player putting it on their forehand gets a lot of power out of it. Even a light loop puts insane spin on the ball, and if you swing all the way through, the speed is really fast too. Away from the table the ball tends to land a bit shallow, but it's a really high-performance rubber. It makes that metallic sound on contact, and the blue sponge looks cool too.

I've used Tenergy 80 and 05 before, but 19 has a soft top sheet that grips the ball, so it's easy to control and easy to put spin on for drives. It doesn't get pushed around by the opponent's shots either, and counters are easy to do. Some people say it suits the backhand better, but you can still hit some pretty powerful shots on the forehand too, and I think it's a rubber that even beginner-to-intermediate players can use. When playing from further back the shots tend to fall short, so it suits players who fight it out from close-to-mid distance. You can't expect as much spin as with 05, but there's really no technique that feels awkward with this — it's quite good.
