This time I put on Rasant, and I think it pairs well. The arc is high and drives are stable and dip down quite a bit on the other side. It doesn't feel like it's putting on much spin, but it actually grips more than expected — when I looped and had my opponent block it, the ball flew way off. lol Blocks turn aggressive on their own with this. If you can master it, it's strong. Might try tacky rubber next time — this blade is for advanced to pro-level players.

It's an outer ALC. Compared to the Timo Boll ALC, the top ply might be a touch softer — but only to that degree. There's no rubber that particularly clashes with it, and price-wise it's a safe pick among Butterfly's special-material blades.
I feel like the handle shape matters more than the blade's actual performance.FL: Thicker than the Boll. Grips solidly. You can hold it firmly with your pinky as a pivot point, making it easy to swing using centrifugal force.
ST: Round. Feels thinner than the Boll's angular handle. Seems easy to make small grip adjustments and fine-tune your power.
AN: Thick. Grips solidly in the palm with little play. Good stability.Honestly, I think the performance difference between the Boll ALC, the Zhang Jike ALC, and the Viscaria is basically within the margin of error. Pick based on handle preference and design.

A lot of reviews say the Viscaria and the Zhang Jike feel the same, or are basically identical, but to me they felt like completely different blades.
First, with the Viscaria, the feel of the shot really comes through clearly in your hand. The handle is also incredibly easy to grip, which makes sense since pro players use it.
With the Zhang Jike, the feel didn't come through to my hand as much. The handle also felt slightly thinner in comparison.
I'd really recommend this one to people using an outer blade for the first time, or to beginner/intermediate players!
For people who can really commit to their spin and swing, I'd recommend the Viscaria instead.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

My impression after using it: it's got a ton of bounce, no question.
Since it's an outer ALC, the ball leaves the blade fast too,
and when you nail the contact point, the power is enough to blast right through, but I think softer rubber works better than hard rubber with it.
Also, receives felt tough because of how much bounce it has. That said, thanks to the handle's shape, both forehand and backhand are easy to swing.
If you're switching over from an all-wood blade, I think you need to go through a special-material blade first, especially something like an Inner Force, before you can get a feel for an outer blade.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness hard

I switched over from the Zhang Jike ZLC to this ALC. With the ZLC, I couldn't get much spin and kept overshooting or hitting the net. Since switching to this blade, my shots land on the table nicely, spin is better, control has improved, and the feel is really great too!
If you want a fast swing speed and want to push through with pure speed, the ZLC or SZLC would be the way to go. I chose this one because I wanted to focus on spin and stability.
It's on the softer side among outer carbon blades, so spin was easy to generate.

I was using an inner-ply blade, but my drives were landing shallow and getting countered a lot from close to the table, so I switched to this. As expected, even with tacky rubber I can now hit sharp drives deep into the opponent's court. That's an outer blade for you. My curve drives are catching the net less too.
I put Extra on the backhand, and it doesn't fly too much. I get the same feeling with this as with the Timo Boll or the Viscaria. It's not very sensitive to the opponent's spin, so it's easy to pair as a backhand with tacky rubber.
The handle is thicker than the Timo Boll, but compared to the Viscaria, which has the same handle length, the part you actually grip feels flatter and thinner.
Because of that, the weight balance sits a bit more toward the blade, making it easier to swing through, so forehand drives generate more spin than on the Viscaria.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

With this blade, the ball flies easily even without putting much power in, so counters were seriously easy to pull off. Paired with V15, the speed is insanely fast, and I was really worried about whether I'd get enough spin, but it grips the ball pretty well, so the spin performance was satisfying too.
