I've been using the Swat for over two years now.
Along the way I also tried the Swat Carbon, the SK7, and the Ma Long 5, but in the end I came back to the easy-to-use Swat ST.It's 7-ply, but it plays more like a 5-ply blade.
My impression is that it's weighted more toward control and balance than toward raw distance.The weight varies quite a bit between individual units, so before buying, it's a good idea to ask to open the package and check the weight and handle thickness.
There's quite a bit of variation.I use long pips on my backhand, and the Swat has been the easiest to use so far.
On my forehand I used to use Fry At Spin max thickness, but it didn't fly much.
That said, it does get a decent, solid amount of spin.
I'm currently using Fastarc S1 max thickness, and my impression is that maybe soft sponge just doesn't suit this blade?Even within the Fastarc line, I feel like a harder sponge like the G1 suits it better.
Compared to the feel of a violin-type or acoustic-type blade, it admittedly falls a bit short, but for a blade under 10,000 yen, it's one of the best, and I think that's why it sells so well.
I expect I'll keep using it as a favorite going forward.

If I had to recommend one blade to a beginner, I'd go with the Swat! It's cheap, and it holds up perfectly fine for beginner and intermediate play too!

Honestly, my first reaction was "this level of performance at this price?!" There's zero awkwardness with serves, the short game, or topspin drives! I think this blade's performance makes it easy to bring out whatever rubber you pair it with.
And here's the thing I personally like about it: it's neither too hard nor too soft — right in the middle, maybe leaning slightly toward the harder side, and it doesn't bounce too much. Because of that, it's easy to create your own timing. Since it doesn't fly off on its own, it feels like you're the one generating the power and control through your own strength. And when I put my own power into a strong shot like a topspin drive, even I'm surprised at how much power comes out. When you don't want it to fly, it doesn't, and when you want it to fly, it flies just the right amount. On top of that, the control is great.
If a beginner uses this, they can build a feel for hitting powerful shots with their own strength. This really is a blade that's been loved by everyone for years, one that appeals to every type of player!Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

Getting this quality at this price is a ridiculous level, lol. There's no technique that's awkward with this blade, so I'd recommend it to table tennis beginners.
