Truly awesome blade for the modern and versatile defensive player! The worlds most successful veneer combination (5-ply allround ) is manufactured with two dampening but elastic outer plies. (Gabon and Anegre), the vibration and the speed of the blade is reduced by increasing the size of the blade by 3 mm, the Senso technology brings maximum dampening effect. This is the first blade I switched to after becoming a chopper.
Strengths
- Easy to hold back on chops, and surprisingly bouncy when attacking
- Control is very responsive
- The sound is satisfying (I'm a total sucker for a good sound, lol)
- Performance you wouldn't expect from the price
Weaknesses
- Depending on the rubber, it barely bounces at all
- The handle is rough

The stability of my chops improved a lot.
You can really feel the distinctive V3 quality coming through too. Personally, I'd love to recommend the Shiono DEF instead, since the quality is even better, but it's discontinued now and expensive...
For anyone just starting out, I think this is reasonably priced and easy to use.
The trajectory is low, and the flex on attacking shots converts into bounce better than expected, so the balance is good too!That said, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who has previously used an attack-oriented chopping blade (like the Matsushita Offensive or the Joo Se-hyuk blade).

This is a blade I used back when I was a chopper.
It's really easy to play with — even a beginner chopper can produce sharp, biting chops with it.
The handle is on the thinner side, so it's easy to hold.
That said, that's all on the defensive side; things change when it comes to attacking. [Depending on the rubber, the attacking side can sometimes work out okay too]
First of all, since it's a blade made for choppers, you probably won't be going for an attack-focused style with it, but if you ever do need to attack, you shouldn't expect too much from this blade.
Rubbers like Tackiness Chop don't bounce much, so it's hard to generate power, and since most choppers tend to put pips on their backhand, backhand drives are pretty rough with this — I think it's best to just think of it purely as a defensive blade. I use this for chopping with pips on my backhand.
My impressions:
- It's just really easy to chop with, and the ball naturally picks up spin
- It's light, so it's easy to switch into a counter-attack
- Attacking power is a bit lacking, but you can still hit a drive with solid spin on itRecommended for choppers who want to win through spin.

I'm a junior high schooler with a bit over 3 years of table tennis experience, playing as a chopper. The Defplay Senso has a nice feel on contact and is lightweight. My first impression using it was that it just doesn't bounce at all. Because of that, chopping and short-game shots over the table are easy and come out sharp. As for chopping, you can swing pretty hard and it'll still barely clear the net, so it's really easy to control. For serves, you don't get much spin unless you swing all the way through, but if you commit to the swing, you can get a lot of spin. Drives stay perfectly stable as long as your swing is fast. I can highly recommend this to choppers.

I tried Mark V AD on my forehand and Tackiness Chop II on my backhand (thick on forehand, medium on backhand).
I used to be a drive player with short pips on my backhand, so I was worried about switching to inverted rubber on both sides, but it turned out fine — even a somewhat sloppy swing still landed on the table, which really surprised me! This blade holds the ball well and makes it very easy to get spin.
If you add some weight with a rubber and swing all the way through using the centrifugal force to chop, you can easily hold back even powerful shots. As far as defensive technique goes, this has been the easiest blade to use I've ever had!
On offense, don't expect much smash speed or good topspin rallies, but you can definitely score with drives and fish shots. I managed to score about 3-4 points per set with it!
