I think most people's image of what matters when a chopper picks a blade is whether it's easy to grip and whether the bounce is kept low. I'd like to add just one more thing to that image: how easily it spins in your hand. Being easy to grip is great, but especially for long-pips players, a push close to the table with too little spin often just gets attacked. So a grip that lets you spin the blade around quickly — using inverted rubber close to the table for pushes, then dropping back to chop with pips — is ideal. Tackifire D and Curl P-3 on an inner-shield setup work really well, but feel free to pick your own rubber combination.
Also, this blade puts a lot of spin on the ball, so if you've been struggling with chops that don't bite very sharply, or serves that don't spin well, I'd really encourage you to give it a try.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

I went with Butterfly's recommended rubber combo exactly as suggested, but it just doesn't bounce lol
Forehand hitting: Stable, but if you don't swing fast the ball falls short. Also, it's pretty jarring on the hand, so your wrist might start to hurt.
Push: The push is stable too. Even if you put everything into the spin, it won't go long.
Topspin drive: With a half-hearted swing, the ball arcs and drops into the net before clearing it — though that might partly be the rubber's fault. If you swing more like a full swing, it draws a proper arc and lands on the table. I think a stroke that doesn't rub too much or hit too flat works best.
Serve: You need to be careful with this one. If you serve with your usual feel it'll go into the net lol. That said, it makes short serves easier to produce.
Chop: The stability is excellent. It handles smashes without any trouble. But with a low-bounce rubber like Tackiness Chop, you have to push the ball out a bit more when hitting, which makes it a little harder to put spin on. I think it takes some practice to get the spin going.If you're pairing rubbers with this blade, I'd suggest bouncy high-tension ones like Tenergy or Rozena. The price is a downside too.

It's probably the least bouncy blade in Butterfly's lineup, but put Tenergy on it and it transforms. Even after chopping way back from the table, you can put ferocious spin on the ball from below table level and drive it deep into your opponent's court. I switched to this from the Defence Pro, and my forehand attacking power improved to some degree. It has ZLF built into the inner layer, so the amount of spin you can generate is very high — as a chopping blade, it's about as good as it gets. The precision on backhand chops is also high, and you can even attack with your backhand from long range (this needs a pretty fast swing, but if you go all out putting spin on the ball, it flies off with that sharp "clack" sound unique to thin rubbers). If you're a chopper who also wants to attack, or someone who mainly drives but sometimes grinds it out with chops, this is a blade worth picking up and trying at least once.

This blade barely bounces at all. It has less bounce than your typical defense-oriented chopping blade. The feel on contact is this hollow, high-pitched "poko-poko" sound.
What I found strange is that, compared to wood blades, you barely get any sense that spin is being put on the ball while you're hitting.
Thinking that couldn't be right, I had a friend receive my serve... and apparently it had insane spin on it — it turned into a service ace.
If you use this blade and think all your shots are coming out as knuckleballs, they're actually carrying a lot of spin.
There's a big gap between feel and reality, but if you don't care much about the feel on contact, it's a good blade.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

I'm a chopper, and I've tried all sorts of blades, but I've settled on all-wood. Blades with special materials bounce too much for me to control. For advanced players, it's worth considering the attacking performance too!

I tried various rubbers on the forehand, and both tacky rubber and tension rubber feel good on this blade.
Smashes and meeting shots do lose some speed, but if you put good spin on the ball, it extends and comes out fast. Blocking and the short game are flawless too. Serves are a little hard to put spin on.
Chops are stable, and I felt it's hard for opponents to tell knuckle balls apart from sharply cut chops.
If it flies too much for you, using a thinner rubber solves the problem.
It's a short-pips rubber, but the spin cuts incredibly well. The spin is truly one of a kind!Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft
