Swat Power is the fastest variant of the Japanese bestseller, TSP Swat. This modern, 7-ply offensive blade is the perfect weapon for ambitions topspin players. In order to guarantee excellent acceleration and high ball bounce, the Japanese team of TSP designers combined the 4 thin outer veneer plies with 3 faster and slightly harder veneer plies. I switched over from the Swat and made the transition without any awkwardness. The feel really comes through to your hand, and you can control the ball freely. The short game is easy. On offense, you never lose out to your opponent's shots, and the ball flies fairly straight. It has way more power than the Swat, so if you're using the Swat and feeling like you can't quite hit through your opponent, I don't think you'd regret switching over. It's not that heavy either.

I switched from the Zhang Jike ALC to the Swat Power. I went from an outer-carbon blade to a wood blade, but since this one is 7-ply, the power is beyond reproach.
This blade is by no means a recent release. But it handles modern table tennis just fine too — things like handling your opponent's ball close to the table without any trouble. I'd love for both players who like to battle it out hard from mid-distance, and players who like to push their opponent away from the table while playing close to it themselves, to give this blade a try.
Also, since it's wood, shifting your center of gravity (weight transfer) really matters. If you want to clean up your form or become a player who can generate real power, why not give it a try?Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

It's a completely different thing from the regular Swat.
It's on the heavier side and the ball comes off with speed. That said, topspin drives are still easy to hit, and it has that stable, wood-like feel in rallies. Also, with short pips it flicks the ball off really easily, and I'm satisfied with it. Being 7-ply, the trajectory is basically straight, but personally I find it easier to get an arc out of it than the Fortius FT, and topspin drives close to the table stay stable even with speed-oriented rubbers.
The grip is thinner than the Fortius FT, but it's comfortable enough to hold that you can swing through backhand flicks properly. Chiquitas are stable too, though they lack speed.
With V15 Extra on it, counters are easy to control and the destructive power when you catch the ball clean is amazing.
Since my playing style is attacking from mid-distance, I use Fastarc, which gives more of an arc. It's also a strength that loop drives close to the table grip really well.
It doesn't have much flex, so it's not suited to playing away from the table, but the thickness of the blade brings out the maximum grip of the Fastarc. If you prioritize rallies and topspin drives, this combination is the best.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

It's called Swat, but it's a blade that stands apart from the rest of the Swat series. The characteristics are different enough that it could almost have a different name. The Swat Speed is still closer to the regular Swat and has a similar feel.
This one is heavy, with speed and power, and it's easy to put spin on. Despite the speed, the control is surprisingly high. Being heavy makes blocking easy, and the good rebound gives counters a sharp trajectory. You can hit heavy, powerful topspin drives, which puts you at an advantage in topspin rallies. The only downside is that pushes tend to float up a bit, but other than that it's nearly a perfect blade. I sometimes stray to other blades, but I always end up coming back to this one — that's how good the control is, and I always come back to using it as my main blade.
It keeps the manageable feel typical of a wood-ply blade while also having high speed performance — it feels suited to intermediate and advanced players. If you're worried about the weight you'll need to think about your rubber choice, but once you get used to it, there's no doubt it's a powerful blade. It's heavy. But it bounces plenty while still being easy to control. Put V>15 on it and it might be too hard, sending the ball flying off, but I think a rubber around 45 degrees hardness would be just right.
