The Nittaku Acoustic was made according to the principles used in making string instruments. The materials used for this blade are thicker and softer than those in the Nittaku Violin. This provides the Acoustic with stable characteristics when attacking and blocking. Made in Japan.

At first I was thinking of getting the Acoustic Carbon that Mima Ito uses, but I wasn't confident I could handle a carbon blade, so I went with the Acoustic instead. Serves and topspin drives are easy with this, especially chiquitas with heavy spin. When you hit a curve drive, it really whips and curves in. The blade has nice flex that keeps the ball from flying too far, so I felt like it could even work surprisingly well for a chopper. That said, speed is hard to generate on attacking techniques like flicks. So I felt a harder-topsheet rubber like Fastarc G-1 would suit it well. The backhand side is inherently hard to get speed on, so I think a speed-oriented rubber like Tenergy 64 would work well there. The grip is made a bit on the thin side, so it might be easy to hold for elementary schoolers. For high schoolers, there's the Acoustic with a large grip, so that could work too.

I reviewed this before, but the feel has changed from back then, so I'm writing another review.
First off, this blade's feel changes quite a bit with the weather compared to other blades.
On a nice day, the ball sticks nicely to the blade and it feels great to hit, but on rainy days the wood feel gets hard to make out.
I guess it's more delicate than other blades?
Topspin rallies from mid-distance and counters close to the table land really well with this one.

Amazing blade!
Unlike the trendy carbon or 7-ply blades out there, it doesn't fly out on its own — your own skill level comes through directly in the shot!
If you like the feel of pure wood, this feels amazing. It's on the springier side for a wood blade, but it's really meant for players who prioritize spin! If you can handle it, I'd want to pair it with harder rubbers.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

This blade has really good control. It's also a relatively soft 5-ply, so topspin drives are easy to pull off. I think the Fastarc series or Tenergy series would suit it really well!! Vega works well too!

I'm just past beginner level, but I splurged and bought this anyway. The control is outstanding and it's easy to handle. On blocks, just touching the ball gives you an arc and it doesn't fly off, so it's easy to vary your pace. It's easy to put spin on, but since it lacks speed, a loop drive from someone just past beginner level becomes an easy target. You need the technique and the physical strength to hit a fast drive with it. This isn't something for someone just past beginner level to pick up - it's more for intermediate players and above.

The control is really good. The blade thickness is just right, and the flex is huge - you can even feel it bend if you flex it by hand. Because of that flex, it's very easy to put spin on the ball.
What's good about the Acoustic is that it's easy to put spin on, the control is good, and it's easy to play the short game with.
What's bad is that despite being a pure 5-ply wood blade, it's heavy, and it gets pushed around easily by the opponent's shots.As for rubbers that pair well with it, pretty much anything works except extremely soft rubbers.
Also, if you have large hands, it's probably worth getting the special-order LG grip (large grip).Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Soft

It has good flex and takes spin well. Stability in the short game is good too! You get plenty of speed if you swing through❗And the thin handle was a perfect fit for my small hands. I think it works well with all kinds of rubbers - Tenergy, Fastarc, Rakza, Rasant, even oddball rubbers❗If you want to buy a blade but can't decide which one, this is a good pick!!
