Back when it was sold in Japan, I test-hit it many times, and I even had custom blades made from Viscaria blade wood.
I think every ALC blade out there today basically started from this one.
Timo Boll ALC, Timo Boll Spirit, Zhang Jike, Zhang Jike ALC, Kenta Matsudaira ALC —
if you trace any of these blades back to their roots, they should all lead back to the Viscaria.And I think the grip is what gets the most praise on this blade.
The grip is a little thicker and a little wider than usual, so it doesn't shift around in your palm and gives a solid, secure hold.
People often describe it as a grip that makes the backhand easy to hit, and I think that's because there's no gap left in your palm, so power transfers well when you swing on the backhand side.
It's currently discontinued in Japan, but it's still sold overseas, so it's relatively easy to get hold of. Price aside, there's no high barrier to buying it, so if you feel like this grip is the only one that will do for you, you'll find real value in it.
That said, personally I don't feel this blade has any especially strong characteristics apart from the grip, so if you're not particular about that, I think a Timo Boll ALC would satisfy you just as well.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

This is a really great blade.
Being an outer-ALC blade, it really flies. The backhand swings very easily. On the forehand, though, the ball flies in a flat, straight line — but you can compensate for that with a rubber like Hurricane.
This is just my personal impression, but the grip felt thicker on the older-lot version compared to the newer-lot type.
I'd recommend this blade to anyone who wants to seize the initiative with their backhand.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

Why on earth was such a great blade discontinued? It's earned a great reputation for shot power and stability, which makes sense given that Zhang Jike and others use it. I believe you can still get it overseas, so if you can, definitely give it a try — it's a really great blade.

I'd recommend tacky rubber on the forehand side.
After all, it's got arylate carbon in it (lol)
The grip is also comfortable to hold.

It really shows why China's top players use this — the balance of power, spin, and control is great.
