Ventus Speed is the hardest and fastest variant of the TSP Ventus series. It was too hard for me, and I couldn't get the shots I wanted out of it. It's also heavy. At the same size it's 6 grams heavier than Ventus Spin... It might just be individual variation, but on a normal-size shakehand blade it came to 50 grams.

This is a good entry-level tension rubber. At 4,000 yen you can't really complain, but both speed and spin are just so-so. Vega is technically released by TSP (through a distributor though), so I'd push for that one instead!

I switched to this rubber because Vega was flying too much for me. The control is outstanding — you'd never guess it's a tension rubber! It's got plenty of speed too, and the spin is strong no matter what shot you're using. I'd recommend it to anyone thinking about moving from high-elasticity to tension rubber, or anyone who feels Vega flies too much and is on the fence about tension rubbers!! Ventus is the best!

Of course the sponge hardness is different so it's naturally a different rubber, but I didn't expect it to be this different. Ventus Spin was one of the easiest rubbers I've used for putting on spin, and you could really feel that on drives and serves. I also liked that it let the ball sink in easily, so I felt like I was really in control myself, but Ventus Speed is much harder to get the ball to sink into. The ball leaves the sheet fast, and even on drives I felt like I wasn't putting much spin on with my own effort. But oddly enough it's not like the speed is over the top either, so the ball would just settle onto the table on its own. I've used Tenergy a few times too, and this was harder to control than any of those, and with the weight coming in at 50 grams after cutting, it might just be individual variation, but I found it pretty difficult to handle overall.

I recently switched to Ventus Speed. It felt like a really good rubber. It grabs a ton of spin. However, it bounces a lot in the short game. Once you get used to it, it's fine.

In the two (Experience: ２〜３ years) Good except for the short game

It grabs more spin than I expected, and the grip on the ball is quite good. The ball sinks in easily on drives, so you can do both a grazing drive and a sink-in drive, but personally I found the sink-in drive easier to pull off. Serves are easy to put spin on too. Classmates and senpai have told me my serves are harder to receive than before. That said, the short game tends to float up a little. If you push with a good cut it comes out low and spinny, but if you let the ball sink in too much it tends to float and go long. Still, once you get used to the short game it's easy to use. The downsides are that it takes time to get used to (this might be personal though), and as I mentioned, the short game tends to float.
