RAKZA X is the first rubber with NSS (New Surface System), Yasaka’s new production process to improve the grip of the rubber surface. NSS gives a stronger touch when hitting the ball, and the control in both attack and blocking is improved.
In RAKZA X Soft the same surface rubber is working together with a relatively soft sponge, Feel Sponge, with good catapult effect. The combination of the elastic sponge and high grip top sheet increase the the feeling and improves the control of your game.
- Pimples in
- Soft sponge makes spin easy even for beginners
- Backspin attacks are easy to lift with stability
- Speed is modest, not suitable for power-focused players
- Excellent control performance, usable on both forehand and backhand
- Slightly shorter lifespan, whitening occurs around 3 months

Swing it and it grips! The arc on your drives is high! Even drives against backspin come up easily! My practice partner's blocks go long 70-80% of the time!! That said, until you get used to it, drives against backspin tend to fly forward and you'll net them. Serves are very easy to put spin on, and you can control the strength and length of the spin exactly how you want! I'd recommend it for the forehand of beginners who are still learning to drive, and for players who want to boost their spin!!

I'm someone who has trouble putting spin on the ball, so I put this relatively easy-to-spin rubber on both sides. First, the speed feels a bit lacking. My opponents also told me the ball felt light (though that might just be my own lack of skill lol).
As for spin, it's insane lol — even someone like me who's bad at spinning managed to get several service aces against a top city-level player. The loop drive quality feels good too.
To sum up the downsides:
speed,
meet shots are no good,
and it occasionally chips/mis-hits.
But apart from that it's good, so I'd recommend both sides for beginner/intermediate players, and the forehand for advanced players. All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

The speed is slow, but the spin really holds, so it's perfect for players whose game is built around pushing with spin. I think the short game is easier to play than with regular Rakza X.

Used with a Japanese penhold blade.
My conclusion: brushing for spin is incredibly easy, but you don't get speed, and meet shots and short pips-style shots are hard to pull off — overall it doesn't suit Japanese penhold.
Because the sheet almost never slips, giving you peace of mind, you can catch the ball as thin as possible when brushing it and really let loose with spin. Once you get the knack, you're less affected by your opponent's spin and control is completely free. Your second-speed shot extends well too, and opponents keep going long over and over. Maybe that's a rare trait for a soft rubber?
On the other hand, when you take advantage of Japanese penhold and swing hard for topspin drives, it feels like the power just isn't transferring properly into the ball. Even when you sink the ball in well, the trajectory is flat and the speed ends up half-baked.
For meet shots, short shots, and blocks, it feels like the rubber grabs the ball too much. The ball releases slowly, which actually makes it harder to control. Techniques based on hitting the ball crisply were generally difficult across the board. So I can't recommend it to Japanese penhold players who can't swing on the backhand.
For serves, the short game, and pushes, it gives an impression of handling things competently with good control.
The grip feel, value for money, and control are all excellent, and the maker's claims aren't false advertising. It's a good rubber, but it leaves you wanting just a bit more. All Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft

Everything except speed is great.
You can attack without being affected by your opponent's spin, more so than with Rakza X.
It really bites into the ball and lets it go well,
so you can send over consistent shots.
I'd recommend putting it on your backhand. All Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft

These are my impressions on backhand.
The short game is just as good as the X — pushes bite well and stops stay dead. As for chiquita, it grips the ball nicely, so the area you can attack from widens, you get stable power, and it's easy to aim your course. If you want more spin, the X might be better. Blocks and counters land a bit shallow since you're hitting off the sheet. Power drives from away from the table were tough. The arc is too high, so it's hard to get distance. But if you make it even higher it turns into an easy ball for your opponent, so you need to adjust by dropping your contact point or adding sidespin. Still, having this much performance in such a light rubber is a huge advantage. All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

Using the Yasaka custom Neid Inner.
I started out using it on forehand, but it was too soft there, so I moved it to backhand.
First off, the grip on the ball is insane, and since the sheet is firm, when you hook the ball with the sheet and send it flying you get a backhand loop drive with crazy amounts of spin.
If you sink the ball in on forehand, you can blow right past your opponent in one shot.
For me it was just right on backhand, but it's a rubber you can use on either side. If you have solid fundamentals, you should definitely try it at least once
