This is a forehand review. It doesn't bounce as much as G1 on soft shots, but when you hit hard by opening the racket face and brushing the ball, it goes in low and deep, right to the baseline. You can easily counter spinny loop drives too. I was also impressed by techniques like extending and stopping the ball on blocks - I think that's because this particular unit had a strong sheet.
The short game is also easy to play - pushes go in low and can overwrite your opponent's spin. Stops pop up a little high, but that stops bothering you with practice. Flicks and chiquitas become real weapons. Switching between heavy spin and no-spin (knuckle) shots is also easy.
It's only slightly tacky, but it also has tension-rubber elements, so it's half-and-half in both good and bad ways. Still, I think it's a rubber that lets a player show their true ability in official matches. I wish I'd had it back in my school days.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

Loop drives and the short game were easy to play. My impression was that speed drives and smashes wouldn't fly unless you put spin on them. For a tacky rubber, it bounces well. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a tacky rubber that still has bounce.

This was my first tacky tension rubber and it's amazing! It's not as tacky as Hurricane, but it bounces more than Hurricane does. It also doesn't have as much spin as Hurricane, but it still gets plenty of spin. I was almost ready to make this my main rubber. That said, the short game feels tacky, but drives and topspin rallies lack consistency. As for ball quality, the speed is great, but since the spin is less than Hurricane, if you want speed, Shoryu is the better choice.

I don't think it's all that tacky (compared to something like Hurricane, say).
But as a first tacky rubber, I think the performance is more than enough. It doesn't feel as beginner-oriented as something like Tackifire Drive, and it's strong. Definitely give it a try at least once!

Since it's a tacky-tension rubber, there's no sense of unfamiliarity hitting it the same way as a tension rubber, but for drives, if you let the ball settle in then brush upward over it, you get a heavy, sharp ball.
<Backhand>
Just like the forehand, basic hitting and drives are no problem.Also, the short game and blocks are stable, but the tackiness can wear off within about a week, so when that happens, breathe on it or apply a tacky protective film to preserve it. Overall, once you master how to hit with it, this rubber has limitless potential.

I switched my forehand from G1. I've changed rubbers several times, but with this one, depending on the sharpness of your serves, the flexibility of your receives, and how you angle your racket, you can send the ball flying all the way to mid or even back court.
However, this particular Shoryu had an unusually white sheet, no tackiness at all, and had turned into a tension rubber with no bounce.
As you can see, unit-to-unit variation is severe with this rubber, but every once in a rare while you get a Shoryu that bounces really well, so I think it's fun to enjoy it like pulling a rare card in a gacha.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

I tried Shoryu out of curiosity and got completely hooked. For one thing, the spin on loop drives is absurd, and speed drives go in one after another, which makes it really tough on opponents. Drives where you brush the ball thinly go in reliably, so it gives you a lot of confidence. On top of that, the extension on counters is crazy good. It was good enough that switching to a tension rubber afterward actually made me nervous. That said, if you don't have much power, you won't get good shots out of it.
