It doesn't feel hard at all for its hardness rating. The hardness doesn't bother me one bit - if anything it feels more like a 47.5 degree rubber. That said, it's hard to get the ball to sink into the sponge without some power. But that's fine, since you can still get spin from the tacky surface. Don't give up on it just because you can't get the ball to sink in - brushing it is enough. Smashes also get plenty of speed. The downside is that if you pair it with a lighter blade because it's heavy, the feel is somehow different. That's about the gist of it.

If you pair it with a bouncy blade, you can even hit from mid-distance - I think it's just the perfect rubber! By the way, I'm a drive-oriented player.

I've played table tennis for a long time, and this is my favorite rubber of my whole table tennis life. You can really feel Yasaka's development effort in this all-out effort of a rubber.

I put this on my Zhou Yu 1 blade. Here's my review.
◎ Drive → Closing the racket face and hitting in a vertical direction makes it easy to get strong spin, it feels like it extends even from away from the table, and counters also felt easy. The ball makes a crisp cracking sound.
◎ Serve → Great spin, and it's easy to produce knuckle balls just by adjusting the racket angle.
○ Receive → Stops are easy to do, and flicks had some nice variation too.
Overall it's great, and I think a strategy of putting spin on everything while watching for an opening to blast one in works well too.

Even with a light touch it bounces about as much as a tension rubber, so I want people using tacky rubber who feel it lacks bounce to give this a try!
Since it's tacky, it gets plenty of spin and bounces well, so personally I'd recommend it for the backhand of players who are good at backhand drives.
Both pushes and stops stay low and spinny, tacky-rubber style, so I'd also recommend it to people who don't want to let their opponent take the initiative.
That said, for forehand drives, since I'm not used to the tacky style of hitting, personally I found it a bit lacking.Getting this level of performance at this price is just what you'd expect from Yasaka, ha.

Good rubber! A really good rubber! I wish I'd started using it sooner. For drives, serves, and stop receives, it's top-notch. But there's one thing you shouldn't get wrong. With Shoryu, like other tacky rubbers, it's all about 'how you hit.' If you're used to tension rubber, or you like the bounce of tension rubber, or you rely on the rubber itself to do the work, you might not be able to make full use of it. Tacky rubber in general relies on arm strength and swing speed as the basic ingredients for bringing out its performance.
