Hurricane 8 is a new generation of sticky-speed rubber. The rubber keeps a good balance between flexibility and elasticity. It's not a tacky rubber.
It's a hard tension rubber. Seriously, there's no tackiness at all.
But strangely enough, you can still play it like a tacky rubber, which is amazing!
Let me compare it to the Hurricane Neo 3.
First, speed is overwhelmingly in favor of the Hurricane 8. Overwhelming.
Next, spin is slightly higher on the Hurricane Neo 3. Just barely.
Next, for serves, flicks, and the like, the Hurricane 8 wins. Those two feel more like a tension rubber.
And above all, it's light. Really light.
So basically, I'd recommend it to anyone starting out with tacky rubbers.
Also, if you put this on a Treiber H blade, it's amazing!

First, I tried hitting it in comparison with the Hurricane Neo 3, also from DHS. I also tried it on other blades (Almatart, Zhang Jike SZLC), but the outer ALC blade felt best, so this review is with the Timo Boll ALC.
The speed feels easier to get with the Hurricane 8. I see, I think the sponge bubbles are bigger. The sound of the ball also gets closer to that of a tension rubber. The spin feels almost the same as the Hurricane 3. However, since it bounces so well, the contact time with the ball is shorter, so it actually feels easier to get the same amount of spin out of the Hurricane 3. If you sink the ball into the sponge, or really rip it with a strong grazing stroke on the sheet, the ceiling for spin is quite high. Switching over from a tension rubber might be relatively easy too. That said, since it hasn't been tuned, I felt it lacks staying power in a pinch. Oops (Experience: ２〜３ years) neo3 with slightly less spin

It bounces well.
It puts on quite a bit of spin too.
Of course the spin on serves and short-game techniques is great,
and thanks to the bounce, drives from away from the table are good too.
It's good on the forehand,
but it's even better on the backhand.
The chop is fantastic too, even though that's not my main game.
I'd recommend it to people just starting out with tacky rubbers,
people who've gotten a bit used to them and want more spin,

To put it simply, it's a Neo3 with more spin and more bounce. It's a mystery to me why pro players don't use it.

This rubber is genuinely fantastic. It outperforms the Neo3 in every way, and since the sponge was changed from the old-style base to a springy, high-elasticity sponge, it's also become easier to sink the ball in on drives. It has a different feel from the Skyline, which is in the same family.
A certain table tennis manufacturer reviewed it as having the same feel on contact as the Neo3, but I found this one easier to sink the ball into, so it felt considerably softer to me.
Drives are also easier to lift, and you're guaranteed to have the upper hand in push-versus-push exchanges.
By the way, that distinctive smell from the old-style base that everyone hated is gone too, making this a really excellent rubber.

Maybe because of the switch to the plastic ball, both the sponge and the topsheet have gotten softer. So the amount of spin might have dropped a bit too.
