The R47 is good too, but this rubber feels more focused on control and spin. Because of that, it backs you up well in all kinds of situations. The sponge lets the ball sink in nicely, so if you dig into it you get a ton of spin. It's soft enough that it's plenty good for the short game too!

If I had to compare the feel alone, it's close to Butterfly's Rozena. But it grips the ball better than that, and it really zips through the air. Compared to the R47 too, it's easier to put spin on and has crazy stability, so I highly recommend it.

Before this I was using the Rasanter R37.
That was good in its own way, but the sheet and sponge were too soft, and I couldn't get the shots I wanted.
So I decided to go a bit harder next, and used the R42 on my forehand. And wow, what an amount of spin!!
I was surprised by how high the arc was and how much the ball carried when I hit it myself!

This is true across the Rasanter line in general, but it's softer than the listed hardness. So it's roughly equivalent to the previous Rasant Power Sponge. Since the rubber itself is soft, even if you focus on spin you still get a good amount of speed.

The feel is similar to VEGA Europe. Of course it grips well for topspin drives, but it's even easier to put backspin on the ball. Pushes are stable, so short serves are easy to handle too.

R47 felt a bit hard to me, so I tried going down in hardness. Sure enough, this one gives more stable distance. It's very easy to use. The ball sinks in nicely, and the arc on topspin drives comes out a little higher. Hitting flat also felt easier, though that might mean the ball is also easier for the opponent to return.
This suits players who rally without backing too far away from the table. I'd recommend it for the backhand. As for value for money, I'd say it's just okay, maybe a bit middling.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

These are my impressions from trying a rubber belonging to someone I regularly practice with.
The first thing I noticed was how hard the sheet is. I was told the thickness was 1.9mm, which I think plays a part, but I really felt a strong punchy rebound.
My impression of the topspin drive was that it grips spin easily — probably because the sheet is hard and firm, I could feel a good grip even though the sheet itself is thin.
That said, while it's easy to put spin on, the absolute amount of spin didn't feel especially high.
The person blocking my shots also said the ball was easy to return.
The arc is high, and maybe because the sheet is thinner, the thick, heavy feel typical of German rubbers up to now felt a lot clearer with this one.
However, the sheet felt very hard — even at a relatively soft 42-degree sponge it still felt firm — so I imagine the harder R47 and R50 would be tough to really sink the ball into.
Since this is a rubber that's gotten a lot of buzz, I'm sure a lot of people are curious about it, but I think beginner and intermediate players would make fewer mistakes in their choice if they try this R42 first before trying the other Rasanters.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard
