      I switched over from inverted rubber. From the very start I could hit the ball without much sense of unfamiliarity.
      And since it naturally produces knuckle balls, opponents really hated facing it. Also,
      spin-based techniques like the chop block, chiquita, and reverse chiquita were all easy to do.
      It really shows why Mima Ito uses this.

      This is a great short-pips rubber. Smashes, topspin drives, spin, knuckle balls — whatever technique you want to do with short pips, this can do it. You can play a fast-tempo game with it. That said, it puts a fair bit of spin on the ball, so I can't really recommend it to players who want a lot of variation. I think it's great for anyone who admires Mima Ito or wants to try short pips.

      This is a rubber with a lot of quirks, even among short pips.
      The feel is on the hard side, and I'd put it in the harder-to-control category.
      It's less forgiving than other short pips, but the performance is that much better, so I think players already used to short pips should definitely give it a try!

      It's always so strange!
      I'm just hitting normally, but the opponent keeps netting the ball.
      Why is it so hard for them to return???
      Serve: backspin bites a little, sidespin bites well
      Receive: so-so
      Topspin drive: a bit of spin, but the opponent misses a lot
      Short blocks and flat hits land really well
      Even without smashing hard, it makes the ball drop dead
      But on rainy days, my own shots slip too
      I've tried a lot of things, and it suits a hard blade best

      I use this on my backhand.
      I'd only ever used TSP/VICTAS short pips before, but I switched to an acoustic carbon blade, so I decided to try Morrist for the first time.

      I was surprised by how much spin it produces for a vertical-pips rubber — topspin drives grip well and lift nicely.
      If you hit it flat, it naturally turns into a knuckle ball, so I felt it's ideal for a backhand short-pips player who likes to take the initiative and create their own openings.

      That said, maybe because the sponge is soft, I found blocking difficult. The ball sinks in too much and you end up eating the opponent's drive spin, which makes it hard to handle.
      I don't think it suits players whose style is to counter-attack off blocks.
      Still, I think that's just something you get used to, and once you master it, it's an all-around short-pips rubber.

      Short pips usually put spin on the ball but the shot often feels light.
      What makes this rubber's shots feel heavy, I think, is a slight wobble in the ball right after impact.
      Also, when I barely managed to return an opponent's hard shot, irregular spin was left on the ball and it drew a mistake from them.
      This happened to me over and over.
      Heavy knuckle balls plus that leftover irregular spin.
      This is the best rubber for a technical short-pips player.
