Compared to classic short pips rubbers like the Spectol, this one is pretty slippery.
It's tough to hit when you let the contact point drop too low...
The trajectory is flat and straight, so it's easy to produce knuckle balls, and the difference from inverted rubber really shows.
If you hit sharply at an early contact point, opponents often miss, so once you get used to handling it, it can become a real weapon.
Not quite as extreme as the 101, but it's kind of a double-edged sword.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

Review from a Chinese penhold player, using Taxim.
○ Good ball release, easy to hit at sharp angles, easy to produce knuckle (no-spin) balls.
The difference in spin compared to the inverted rubber on the backhand side seemed to induce mistakes from opponents.● Hard to generate spin, feels a bit slippery?
Gave a pretty flat, straight-line impression.Not much affected by the opponent's spin — feels like a real short-pips rubber.

I used to have the same series' 101 on my backhand, but it just wasn't going in, so I tried this one.
The knuckle isn't quite as strong as the 101, but it's decent, and blocks and pushes made the opponent's return drop short. Also, compared to all short-pips rubbers, I'd say this one produces knuckle on the higher side.
As for how easy shots go in, compared to the 101, it seems easier to control on any kind of ball. That said, this is only a comparison with the 101 — there are plenty of other, more stable rubbers out there from other makers.
As for the feel, it feels like you're hitting with just the rubber. With the 101, and also Spectrum Blue which I tried before, when the ball sinks in you can feel it reach the blade, and I liked that feeling and used them for it, but with this rubber, the sinking-in stops within the rubber itself, so it felt a bit off to me. Because of that, I can't recommend it for a flick-and-hit style of technique, since it doesn't let you put out full energy.
Overall, my impression is "a knuckle-focused rubber with a reasonable amount of stability." If you want lots of knuckle balls but don't want to make mistakes, it might be worth trying...All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

Superficial (Experience: More than ２０ years) A rubber that's unremarkable in a good way

As a VO101 user, I tried this one right away. I used 1.8mm on the forehand side of a 7-ply penhold blade.
First off, unlike the 101 or 102 where something stands out but something else is lacking, everything here is at a high level and the control range is wide.
【Speed】Compared to the 101, thanks to the finer air bubbles in the sponge (higher hardness), there's no mushy give, and the initial speed felt higher. Angled shots felt more stable ◎
【Spin】Even choppy, broken pushes come up easily. Unlike the 102 where everything gets spin regardless, you can control the spin amount by how much you brush it, which is also a plus ◎.
Serves bite well too.【Push】This is the performance I liked the most. Since I consider it my first attacking shot, I put a lot of weight on this, and it lets you get deep, sharp, well-cut pushes in easily ◎◎.
【Knuckle】When I hit forehand shots, my opponent kept hitting the net. On the other hand, when I closed the racket face slightly on impact, the ball didn't slip and landed on the table with topspin instead, causing the opponent to go long. Blocks are the same way.
If you're the type who just gently touches the ball on receives or attacks, you'll find it hard to control since the rubber's elasticity will send the ball flying on its own ×.

Dingdong 01 (Experience: １１〜２０ years) Works with penhold short pips too

I use this only on one side of a Chinese-penhold racket.
It doesn't produce as much knuckle as the 101,
but it gives a moderate amount of knuckle.
It doesn't spin as much as the 102 either,
but among lengthwise-pip short-pips rubbers,
I'd say it's on the higher-spin side.
Even with a low, sharp push,
you can drive it with some practice.
It has speed.
Since I only use it on one side,
the 101 was just too unstable for me,
and the 102 didn't feel like a proper short-pips rubber,
so I was using a different rubber,
but the 103 feels very much like a real short-pips rubber,
so I think I'll practice with this for a while.
I don't think it's suited
for players switching over from inverted rubber
or players looking for stability.
But I think it should be fine
for intermediate-or-above players

Beaver (Experience: １１〜２０ years) Pretty versatile for a vertical-grain rubber

For a lengthwise-pip rubber, it might be surprisingly all-around
I have a habit of dropping my racket, and to correct it I switched drastically from the Tango Ultra 2.0 to this rubber's 1.6mm, but it didn't feel that uncomfortable. It's not as hard as I expected, it's easy to block with, and surprisingly, depending on how you hit it, it does grip the ball
It also produces plenty of knuckle balls, and if you master it, it should give quite an annoying feel with penhold forehand pips, so I want to keep researching it and get good with it
