I was expecting this to be the best of both the VO>101 and 102, but the first thing I noticed after opening the package was that the pips run lengthwise.
The pip shape is a bit smaller than the VO>102, and the cross-section is closer to cylindrical. Does that mean it's not really a spin-oriented rubber?
When you hit forehand shots, naturally the ball "drops" more, and so does the opponent's return (compared to the VO>102).
When driving a low backspin ball, it doesn't get as much spin as the VO>102 and tends to sail over on a fairly straight line without arcing.
A slightly floating backspin ball, if you just hit it flat, goes in at about the same speed as the VO>102, so the speed was decent.
When I tried backhand blocking, knuckle balls came out normally. Backhand control is relatively easy.
It's faster than the Red&Blue Spectrum and produces knuckle balls too, so I'd recommend it for players who use knuckle balls on the backhand while still pushing forward.
I don't think it suits shakehand forehand-pips or Japanese-penhold forehand-pips players who create chances with forehand drives and then smash.

My impression after using it: the claim that you can handle it like inverted rubber is a lie, lol! Knuckle balls come out a lot - I find it tricky when the ball dies on me too, but it looked tricky for my opponents as well!
I think most people using vertical-pattern short pips on the backhand tend to set up a chance on the backhand and finish on the forehand, but with this rubber, swinging fully gives you huge power - you can hit sharp balls at something like Vo2 speed, and knuckle balls come out well within that too, which leads to points! That said, I felt like you really need a strong impact to make it work.
I think this would be an amazing weapon for men or players with a lot of power!All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

I've got this on my backhand.
I often hear people say it's "hard to use," but for me it's the best short pips rubber out there.
Everything about it is just right.
Please, keep selling this one for a long time to come.Good points
① The sponge has real spring to it.
It flies when you want it to fly. Genuinely fast.
No problem even if you're pushed back deep. Smash from further back and you'll surprise your opponent.
Even against a heavy shot, it bounces back without collapsing.
Watch out though - if you try to force it and swing hard, it fights the ball and sails long.
② It gives you proper knuckle balls. Don't worry, they'll feel heavy for your opponent.
③ You can put spin on it too.
The spin is what you'd expect from pips, but hitting a backspin serve on the backhand will sometimes make the ball die.
It can even lift the ball from a low contact point. That surprises people too.Overall it's well balanced, so if you've been using something like Moristo and feeling like something's missing,
I really think you should give this one a try.
(That said, it's a fast, vertical-pattern rubber, so I'd say it suits the backhand.)All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

Since Hammond FA Speed got discontinued, I picked this as a replacement vertical-pattern short pips rubber.
It doesn't have that tendency to drop on its own, so it's easy to handle.
Drives get plenty of spin, while blocks and shorts still give you natural variation - I thought it was a rubber that gives you the best of both worlds.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

This is a review from a chopper's perspective. I normally use DNA Platinum XH on my forehand and Spectol S1 on my backhand. First off, I don't feel much bounce from this one. It's a pips rubber that feels balanced, in both a good and a bad way. Compared to Spectol it obviously has more bounce, but I'd say it's in the easier-to-control category. And surprisingly, it's easy to put spin on too. Best of all, the way a chop suddenly drops off is fun. I'll be sticking with this one for a while! Lol

I've tried all kinds of short pips on my forehand, and this rubber lets me topspin drive, play the short game, smash, and get knuckle balls too! It's really well balanced, so I use it! That said, it doesn't have any standout strength, so I think beginners and intermediate players who can't generate good shots on their own might find it hard to win with. For advanced players who've been using vertical-pattern pips and can smash, drive, and play the short game while producing good shots themselves, I think it's perfect!

101 gives nice knuckle balls but the serve doesn't spin much. 102 bounces too much and is hard to control - it grips the ball well but knuckle balls are hard to get. 103 has good spin on serves, doesn't bounce too much, and is a really solid, easy-to-use rubber.
The short game is especially easy with it.
You can loop drive with it too if you want to. Even the biggest weakness of penhold short pips - a long, sharp backspin serve placed deep to the backhand - can be handled: brush up on it and the ball traces a small arc right to where you're aiming your return.
It's a well-balanced rubber that covers all the typical short-pips techniques. I like it even more than Moristo SP.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft
