Highly rated as a beginner's rubber with consistently praised superior control and stability. However, insufficient speed and spin performance for intermediate players and above, with step-up to advanced rubbers recommended after mastering basics.
    ■ Frequently Mentioned Points

    ■ Representative Voices
▲ PositiveAll performance is directed toward control, with moderate spin that makes basic techniques easy to learn. High-quality Butterfly sheet allows beginners to develop spin techniques they need to master.
▽ CriticalLacks spin and doesn't drive well with plastic balls. Insufficient speed makes it easy to be countered; intermediate players find overall performance lacking, requiring upgrade to high-elasticity rubbers within a year.

SEINOKmakiri Ⅱ3 (Experience: 2〜3 years) My first rubber

      Reviews by user

      Perfect as a first rubber.
      Control and spin are excellent.
      Speed is a bit lacking.
It's one of the cheapest inverted rubbers around, so I'd recommend it.
Once this stops satisfying you, it'd be good to level up to something like Mark V.
I'd recommend it to people who value stable rallies built on spin and control.

Netin today too Not enough with plastic balls

      Reviews by user

I used this back when I played as a chopper.
Personally, I found it easier to put spin on the ball than with Tackiness, so I liked using it. (At the time, I felt the spin performance was better than the catalog numbers suggested.)
But after the switch to plastic balls, when I tried this rubber again, it barely spun, barely bounced...
      My blade was a Cutlass.
In modern table tennis, I guess it's positioned as basically a slightly upgraded toy blade?
Still, I think the control is outstanding.

The Battle of Minoshima! For those wanting to start from the very basics

      Reviews by user

I'd recommend this to people starting out with a blade that already guarantees good bounce, like a single-ply blade.

Since it's soft and forgiving, I'd suggest picking the thick version and using it as a stepping stone to your next rubber.

Since it's all about control anyway, build your basics with this as quickly as you can, then move on to a tension rubber.

      Masato Tanaka 00 Outstanding control!

      Reviews by user

Reassuringly made in Japan, and a go-to for beginners!

It's packed with control performance, so if you can overlook the lack of bounce, it's more than enough!

It's not like you get zero spin either - it's a moderate amount.

For anyone who just wants to play table tennis, this is perfect.

Masamune (Experience: 6〜10 years) The definitive beginner's rubber

      Reviews by user

      Control performance is outstanding.
On top of that, if you really let the ball sink in, you can still get a decent amount of spin.
Also, it seems less affected by the opponent's spin, so you can play without straining.

      Tanaka 0569 A beginner favorite

      Reviews by user

      It's aimed at beginners.

Everything is put into control performance - with moderate spin and not much speed, it's easy to learn the basic techniques.

Also, it might be interesting for beginner choppers to try turning this low bounce to their advantage.
