This rubber has average spin and speed, but above all, its counter-attacking is the fastest around. It's one of the strongest rubbers from way back — you can counter even a drive hit with the fastest of rubbers. It's the rubber that stands opposite Tenergy.

A bake (Experience: ６〜１０ years) Good for chopping beginners, or attackers' backhand

Since it's an old-design rubber, the surface feels smooth rather than tacky. If you sink the ball into the sponge and really carve into it, you can get a lot of spin (enough to make people mishit off your chop's backspin). If you just tap the ball, even your receive comes out as a knuckle ball that's hard for opponents to smash. Drives don't reach if you back away from the table, so it's better to attack from close to the table.

Doko cut man (Experience: ６〜１０ years) The best stability for beginners and choppers

This is great. Every technique except lobbing is stable with it.

Drive: If you shift your weight properly, it's easy to lift the ball. It gets a bit tough if you're just using your arm.
Push: Bites really well and you can place it exactly where you want.
Stop: Stops the ball almost too well.
Block: Feels great with a bit of a push.
Chop: You can place it exactly where you want. But if your weight shift is sloppy, it won't travel at all.
Lob: Way too bad, lol — it just dies in the air and doesn't go in.

Roundel Odawara (Experience: ２〜３ years) A tacky rubber with great value for money!

Used on the forehand, thick sponge.
Being a tacky rubber, it doesn't produce a lot of speed,
though it's not like there's none at all.
The hardness is 38 degrees, and the tackiness feels about average...
It doesn't bounce much, so it's easy to use for the short game.
I also tried chopping with it, and the low trajectory makes it easy to use.
If you're a looper without much power,
I'd avoid using it any further back than mid-distance...
Lobs don't go in at all.
So, I'd recommend this to beginners just starting out with tacky rubbers!

L (Experience: ４〜５ years) Not to be underestimated

I'm a chopper, so I'll review this from a chopper's perspective.
First, for chopping, it holds the ball down well and puts a lot of spin on it. Personally though, what I liked most was how easy it makes knuckle (no-spin) chops. Pushes are also easy to cut reliably.
As for attacking, the bounce is a little lacking, but it still puts solid spin on the ball, and you get enough power to put away chance balls.
Of course, tension rubbers have more spin and speed, but chopping with a tension rubber requires a corresponding level of skill. So I'd recommend this to anyone who isn't confident in their chopping technique yet. It has no quirks and is generally easy to use — a good rubber overall.
It's a different era now, but it's no surprise so many choppers, Koji Matsushita included, used to play with this rubber.

Tats (Experience: ２〜３ years) Easy to use

It's not suited to fast-paced play, but it really stands out for returning the ball without mistakes. It holds the ball well and is easy to put spin on. It has more speed than Tackiness Chop, so I think it's good on the forehand for a chopper who prioritizes stability.
