Because it flies in a straight line like a tension rubber, I found it hard to lift backspin balls with it. The amount of spin is a bit weaker.
But once you get used to it, you can hit very low loop drives that are hard for your opponent to counter. Maybe because it's on the softer side, I felt like I got pushed around by my opponent's power more easily.
It doesn't fall short on distance though, so being able to trade topspin rallies even from mid-distance is one of its strengths.Overall Speed Spin Control

It keeps the control the Kasumi Basic had, while still giving decent speed, so overall I had a good impression of it. Now that we're on plastic balls, I think pairing it with the P-1 balances out the slightly lower spin.

At 100g, it's a pretty heavy blade. I glued on a high-energy inverted rubber and it became really hard to maneuver, but as soon as I switched to extra-thin, short pips, or long pips rubber, I was able to get a lot of power and control.

Since it's short pips, it's not affected much by incoming spin, and on top of that the speed is good, so it's great to pair with a rubber that generates a lot of spin.

It really flies. I had a lot of overshoots across the board - topspin drives, pushes, blocks, all of it.
The ball-holding feel is on the longer side for how high-rebound it is, and it's easy to control among tension rubbers, so I can see why advanced players like it.
I ordered the 1.9mm, but even so it flew too much close to the table.
I think the grip on the ball is good. Pushes also come out low, which is nice.
Topspin drives brushed with a lifting motion fly upward and travel far, so topspin rallies were easy.
You need to practice your ball touch to cut down on overshoots, but since working adults can't always secure regular practice time, I felt the Mercury 2 WRM suited me better.
One thing that bothered me is that hit marks stayed on the rubber surface and it got bumpy.
By the next day it had gone back to flat, so that might just be a trait of the coarse-cell sponge.
The sound off the rubber is a satisfying crack.Overall Speed Spin Control
