  This is exactly what an all-wood blade should feel like.

  It's like a slightly harder version of the Acoustic — just barely, though.

  That slight difference in hardness makes it a really good match for firmer tension rubbers like the 05 or Rakza 7.

  Also, the grip is unusual for Butterfly — it's more oval-shaped, similar to what you often see from STIGA, and it fits snugly in your hand for a solid grip.

  You could call this one of the finished forms of the 5-ply blade.

  これぞ木材、という感じのラケット。

  アコースティックを、ほんのちょっとだけ硬くした感じ。本当にわずかですが。

  ただ、その硬さの違いで、05やラクザ７と言った、少し硬めのテンションに非常に良くマッチします。

  また、グリップがバタフライには珍しく、楕円のような、スティガによくあるような、すっぽりと手に収まる形のグリップで、しっかりと握れます。

  5枚合板の一つの完成系とも言えるラケットです。

  This is a really well-balanced rubber.

  It's less prone to knuckle (no-spin) balls than the plain version, but it's still easier to produce knuckle balls with than an average short pips rubber.

  It's easy to put spin on, and easy to get knuckle balls too. Speed is decent as well.

  If you're not going all-out attacking with your backhand, this rubber is plenty for a backhand short pips setup.

  
  With the 5.0mm sponge, the ball can sometimes sit on the rubber a bit too long, so the plain version gets the edge there.

  If you're using a 7-ply blade like the Clipper Wood or SK7 Classic, this 2.1 sponge is a perfect match.

  とてもバランスが良いラバーですね。

  無印よりもナックルになりにくいですが、それでも並の表ソフトよりは出しやすいです。

  回転もかけやすく、ナックルも出しやすい。スピードもそこそこ出ます。

  バックハンドでガンガン攻撃メインでなければ、バック表はこのラバーで十分です。

  
  5枚だと、球を持ちすぎてしまうこともありますので、無印の方が○。

  クリッパーウッドや、SK7クラシックなどの、7枚合板ラケットだと、この21スポンジが相性バッチリです。

  MARK WOOD

  

  This is a well-balanced, properly "Yasaka" blade - it's been a while since one like this came along.

  The bounce is a bit stronger than the All-Round Evolution.

  And that amount of bounce is just perfect.

  For feel, spin, and control, the All-Round Evolution is good, but its bounce is admittedly weak. On the other hand, something like the Cellulose Wood or the Waldner OFF bounces a bit too much. The Korbel is too heavy.

  This blade hits that sweet spot that always seemed like it should exist but never quite did.
  It fills the gap in the lineup of 5-ply blades.

  The feel on contact is satisfying in that way that really says "made in Sweden."

  Put a firmer tension rubber on it, and it has more than enough performance for advanced players too.
  If more 5-ply blades like this come out, that alone should help raise the level of junior high players.

  久しぶりの「ヤサカらしい」バランスの取れたラケットです。

  弾みはオールラウンドエボリューションよりも、やや強め。

  この弾み具合がもう絶妙ですね。

  打球感や回転、コントロールは、オルエボが良いけど、さすがに弾みが弱い。だからといってセレロウッドやワルドナーOFFでは少し弾みすぎる。コルベルでは重い。

  そんな痒い所に手が届く、ありそうで無かったポジション。
  5枚合板の穴を埋めてくれるラケットです。

  これぞスウェーデン製、といった感の気持ちの良い打球感。

  硬めのテンションラバーを貼れば、上級者でも十分に使える性能。
  こうした5枚合板が増えていけば、それだけでも中学生のレベルアップにつながっていくはずです。

• SUPER VENTUS

  

  I used this glued to an inner carbon blade.

  It's a very "modern" rubber in the sense that it's strong against topspin but needs some technique against backspin.

  The sheet has strong tension, and against an incoming drive, it grips the ball firmly enough that even if you angle the blade straight down, the drive still flies forward properly.

  Despite that, it doesn't really give you a "holding" feeling, and if anything that makes meet-style shots easier too.

  Spinning it, curving it, smacking it — every shot in a rally is easy, and it still puts solid spin on the ball.
  You can control how high your own arc is.

  Serves also bite easily. Unlike softer rubbers, it's easy to put a sharp spin on the serve and keep it low on the table.

  That said, for pushes and stops the ball comes off a bit quickly, so you need to pay attention to angle and touch.
  It does bite well, though.

  For drives against backspin, the ball comes off the rubber fast, so you need an accurate angle and swing.
  But as long as you get the angle right, the good grip means the drive goes in well.

  The chiquita is the same way — as long as you can make thin contact, it goes in easily.

  
  Up through the third and fourth ball you need a bit of technique.
  But once you're into the rally after that, it's a rubber that's really easy to play with.

  インナーカーボンに貼って使いました。

  「対上回転には強いけど、対下回転は技術が必要」という、今どきのラバーですね。

  張りの強いシートで、対ドライブでは、面を真下に向けても、しっかりと前にドライブが飛ぶくらいに、しっかりと引っ掛かってくれます。

  その割に、あまり「持つ」という感じがなく、むしろそれでミート系もやりやすい。

  かける、曲げる、叩く、など、打ち合いでは何でもやりやすいのに、しっかりと回転もかかるラバーです。
  弧線の高さを自分で作れます。

  サービスも切りやすいですね。柔らかいラバーと違ってしっかり切って台に収めやすい。

  ただ、ツッツキやストップは、ちょっと飛び出しが早く、角度とタッチに気を使います。
  しっかり切れますけど。

  対下回転のドライブは、やはり球離れが早く感じるため、正確な角度とスウィングが必要です。
  ただ、角度さえ出れば引っ掛かりの良さで良いドライブは入ります。

  チキータも同様で、薄く当てることさえできれば簡単に入ってくれます。

  
  3球目、4球目まではちょっと技術が必要。
  でも、その後の打ち合いになれば本当にやりやすいラバーです。

  Compared to similarly priced rubbers like Vega, Factive, and Fly Att, this one has a slight edge in spin.

  Even experienced players can use it comfortably on their backhand.

  Since it produces a good arc, it's easy to lift backspin balls with your drive,
  and while it's on the softer side, it's not overly mushy — it keeps just the right amount of firmness, so it doesn't lose out against topspin either.

  Pushes also cut nicely. It doesn't bounce much on light hits, so receiving is easy too.

  That said, since the bounce is a bit weak, it's a little tough to put on the forehand with a 5-ply blade.

  A 7-ply blade like the Swat or Allround Classic 7 seems like a better match.

  It's also a good rubber for the backside penhold style.
  Naturally it works for beginners, but it's also good enough for advanced players who are just using it as a "connecting" rubber.

  ヴェガ、ファクティブ、フライアットなどの同価格帯のラバーと比べると、回転力で一歩リードしています。

  経験者でもバックには十分に使えます。

  弧線が出やすいので、対下回転をドライブで持ち上げやすく、
  柔らかめですがグニャグニャというほどでもなく、程よくコシが残っているので、上回転に対しても打ち負けしません。

  ツッツキもしっかりと切れますね。軽打で弾みにくいのでレシーブもやりやすい。

  ただ、弾みが弱めなので、5枚合板では、フォアに貼るのは少しキツいですね。

  スワットやアーレスト７など、7枚合板の方が、組み合わせが良さそうです。

  ペンの裏面打法にも良いラバーです。
  初心者はもちろん、とりあえず繋ぐために貼っている、くらいの上級者でも十分に使えるでしょう。
