It has a slippery feeling kind of like short pips.
But when you can put spin on it, you can put on a normal amount, so it feels like there's variation.
If you can use this consciously, it's pretty strong.
The speed is quite high too.
It doesn't come out as fast as Pride, but it's faster than Rakza, so I think it sits somewhere in between the two.

PB is also known as Zylon
In other words, it's the same as ZLC
Which means this is the same material as SZLC
I have a Zhang Jike SZLC of my own
and borrowed a Jun Mizutani SZLC from a friend
    so I compared all three
It's not quite the same as either one, though
It feels like a softened version of the Zhang Jike SZLC
    It's like taking Mizutani's softness
and Zhang Jike's snap and board feel
    and combining them
In terms of ease of use, Mizutani wins
and in terms of power, Zhang Jike wins
but I think this one is a good blade that sits right in between
Even though it flies fast, you can still get spin on it
    It's on the pricier side
but I think it's a good blade worth the price

This blade gives you the feeling that you're putting a lot of spin on the ball.

But it really is just a feeling.
For some reason the trajectory arcs high and stability is good too.

However, the actual amount of spin is surprisingly low.
If I rate the Freitas, my main blade, as a 10,
this one would be about a 3.
It's a somewhat strange blade in terms of speed and stability.

I think this could be a special-use blade for tacky rubber players who want to cover for their lack of speed by leaning into how it tends to produce knuckle balls — a non-standard way to use it — but
using something like this when spin matters so much these days is also pretty risky.

I think this is a hidden gem.

It's one of those ALC-type blades that are trendy right now,

but maybe because of the wood construction, the ball-holding feel is great.
Compared to harder inner-carbon type blades, like the ones with an inner ZLC,
this one holds its own just fine.

The feel is really pleasant too.

I also own a Viscaria and a Timo Boll ALC, but I feel like this one has better balance.
Donic isn't that well known for blades, but all of theirs are good,
and I think this is one of the better ones in their lineup.

In winter the rubber gets harder and the ball-holding feel drops, so my plan is to balance things out by using a Zhang Jike ALC in summer and this one in winter.

Side note, but I won a Tohoku regional tournament using this blade.
Results obviously come more from skill than equipment, but as far as equipment goes, I think this one is really good.

  • TENALY ACOUSTIC CARBON INNER

    User review

One of the older guys at the club was showing it off with a smug look, so I borrowed it.
Performance-wise it's not that different from the Acoustic Inner, but the Tenary's grip is interesting — since the blade is more elongated, it ends up feeling kind of like a Chinese penhold.
It might be hard to use if you rely a lot on wrist-driven drives. The Tenary might honestly be about the same as a handsaw at this point, lol.
