Just as I expected, it's a slightly stiff 5-ply blade. It's been a while since I used a 5-ply, but yeah, this kind of blade has its own charm (^^)
The topspin drives really extend well. I can feel myself putting spin on every single ball. The downside is it's slow... that's the fate of a 5-ply I guess... I think it's better suited to a style that relies on spin to grind points out rather than driving through the opponent. Also, the short game and serves show off the good points of a 5-ply blade - the ball settles really nicely.
As for rubbers, it pairs perfectly with spin-oriented tension rubbers like the G1. You get a heavy, solid-feeling ball. The Rakza X Soft I put on the backhand side was honestly so-so...? A soft rubber on a 5-ply grips the ball too much and it slipped.
Performance-wise I think this would appeal to pretty much everyone. I haven't tried it, but I bet it pairs well with Chinese rubbers like Hurricane too. Also, the weight was toward the tip and the grip was on the thinner side.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

For a 5-ply blade, it bounces well and felt heavy. The grip is thin, which made the short game and switching grips feel easy. The blade is larger than a typical blade and the balance leans toward the tip, which added more power to my attacks. It felt heavy at first, but I got used to it as I kept using it. If you're not a fan of heavy blades, I think you need to think about your rubber combination and pay attention to overall weight.

I think this falls into the bouncier category among 5-ply blades!
Especially paired with a tacky rubber, the bounce ends up just right — enough that you go "wait, is this really a tacky rubber?"
Personally I thought Hurricane Neo 2 was great with it.
The control felt a bit tricky,

At first I thought, whoa, this is heavy!! But as I kept using it, I found I could drive even from far back, and I could also chain together rapid attacks. This is truly a god-tier blade!

The Ma Long 5! I ended up buying one the other day. I like Nittaku rubbers, and I got curious about what their blade would be like, so I ended up buying it.
The design is way too cool! Honestly I like the grip color on the Ma Long Carbon better, but I never really got into carbon blades, so I went with the Ma Long 5 instead. It's fairly heavy and the grip is on the thin side. The balance leans toward the tip. My unit weighed 88g. I put Fastarc G1 on it! It doesn't fly too much and comes out with a nice arc. There's good ball power too, and second gear feels great. It seems like it would pair well with tacky rubber too (though I don't use one myself). It's consistent and easy to use whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or advanced player. I think Hurricane or similar rubbers work well on the forehand.
