The Diode V has surpassed the Korbel.
At this price, I think this level of performance is solid.
The feel on contact - I can definitely recommend it.
However, speed and spin-wise, well, it's a 5-ply blade so.....
and for a chopper, it seems suited to and needed for blocking-style play

Super easy to put spin on! It's a blade that's easy to use whether you're a beginner or advanced. I'd been using the Mace before this, so it felt a bit heavy at first, but you get used to it quickly, so I recommend it!

This is my impression after borrowing it from a friend and playing a match with it.
My first impression was...
"whoa, what is this thing"
It was released in 1995, so that's already 23 years ago, and hitting the ball with it gave me this strange feeling knowing it's been a long-seller for that long
The rubber is medium thickness on both sides
It's incredibly easy to put spin on
You can hit really powerful backhands, and meeting the ball is effortless too
I almost want to ask my table tennis coach from 6 years ago why he didn't have beginners use this lol lol
When you just bounce the ball on it, you think "whoa, this bounces way too much," but when I actually went through everything from serving to rallying to topspin exchanges, none of it felt hard to do
It kind of made me want to fall for it...
But the speed feels like it's one beat slower (compared to an inner-carbon blade like the Ariate Carbon)
I'd love for lots of different people to try this!

This is the one, right!? I've been playing table tennis since elementary school, and I bought the Korbel as my second blade. Until recently I was using one of STIGA's hardwood blades, but I picked this one up again after a while.
There are two standout features. First, the ball-holding is incredible. The consistency of your topspin drives and how easy it is to place the ball are second to none. The other is the spin - because it uses relatively soft wood, the amount of spin you can get on your drives is amazing. This blade's charm is its ball-holding feel - it pairs really well with tacky-type rubbers, and you can really feel how it lets you play without any gaps.

It's heavy, but I felt like that heaviness actually helps put more spin on the ball.
I'm using Hurricane NEO3 on my backhand, and compared to Tour on my forehand,
I found both chiquita and backhand topspin drives really easy to do.

For anyone starting out in table tennis,
I always recommend the Korbel first.A lot of middle schoolers start with a beginner blade,
find it's not enough,
and suddenly jump to a special-material blade,
but I think you should really
use a blade like this from the start.
It's a genuinely good blade you can use for a long time.A lot of people mention the weight, but to begin with, it's normal
to start with a soft rubber,
not max thickness,
and after that, as your skill and strength improve, you can just change the rubber
and keep using the same blade indefinitely.There are even top players who change their grip
but keep the Korbel as their blade,
so you shouldn't underestimate it.You can produce really heavy balls with a lot of spin,
and the weight also works in your favor
so you won't get overpowered.If I had to point out a downside,
it would be that you can't choose the grip,
and the sweet spot is
just a little on the narrow side.Other than that, I have no complaints.
