Using the Chinese-penhold, 80g version.
I bought it because some Chinese women's players who used to use 5-ply blades are now using this, and since I like 5-ply blades myself, I thought I'd give it a try.
Outside of hard smashes, it feels like using a hard 5-ply blade - light hits and medium-hard hits don't feel overly bouncy. And for some reason it's easy to get a nice arc on the ball - maybe thanks to the thin board and the top ply?
In other words, it doesn't run wild in the short game, but it still bounces properly when you smash hard. It's not an inner-ply blade, so it has a fairly even bounce throughout.
It's not a completely rock-hard outer-ply blade, so I'd recommend it to anyone who feels their 5-ply blade lacks a bit of bounce.
I also moved over from a harder 5-ply blade, and I've had no trouble getting used to this one.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

It's been a little over a year since I got back into large-ball table tennis, and I'm enjoying my weekly club practice.
My previous review was about the Butterfly SK7, which flies well, but control was an issue.
This time it's my third blade, and it's the special-material blade I'd been longing for — the STIGA Carbonade 45 (with a slim MJP grip). Comparing the SK7 (Allegro Max) and the Carbonade 45 (L-Meister Max): blade thickness and total weight came out to 6.8mm/147g for the former and 5.8mm/148g for the latter.
As for the Carbonade 45, it's easy to drive with and the control feels good too. The feel is also soft.

I bought the PAC at 71 grams.
During basic drills, I could feel that characteristic wood ball-holding,
and on hard hits I felt the carbon power — that combination was a first for me.
Female players on the Chinese national team use it too, so the performance makes sense.

"I want to keep the spin and arc of a wood blade, but swing both wings a bit more easily."
I think this blade is a perfect match for people who feel that way!

I heard it was an outer-carbon blade so I tried it out, and it draws a solid arc, holds the ball well, and has good control. It's a blade that combines the strengths of inner-carbon and wood. If you're looking for that classic outer-carbon trait of a fast, flat ball release, you'd be better off with something like the 145 or Butterfly's Outer ALC. That said, on light hits the bounce isn't especially strong, but the harder you hit it, the more the power increases, giving you that real carbon-blade feel along with good spin. Overall it's an easy blade to use — you can switch to it from a plain wood blade without trouble, and I think it works well with short pips too.

I play short pips on my forehand and inverted rubber on my backhand, and I'd always used a wood blade, but since my backhand drive lacked power, I switched to the Carbonade 45! I'd heard carbon doesn't suit short pips, so I was worried, but after actually using it, it doesn't fly too much for a carbon blade, so all my short-pips techniques are easy to use, and when I hit hard it still has power, giving my backhand drive plenty of punch too. I think this is a great blade for players running short pips on either the forehand or backhand!

This blade flies nicely when you put spin on the ball, and it's easy to create a good arc. I originally switched over from a wood blade myself, so I'd recommend it to wood-blade users who want a bit more speed.
