    Customer Reviews SummaryAI Summary
The balanced performance between Tenergy 05 and 64 is highly appreciated, with particular praise for stability and ease of use on the backhand. However, poor durability and high price are noted as major drawbacks.
    ■ Frequently Mentioned Points
    • Excellent balance combining 05's spin and 64's speed
    • Outstanding stability and ease of use on backhand
    • Exceptional at short-range techniques like chiquita
    • Strong all-around performance in rallies
    • Short durability and high price point
    ■ Representative Voices
▲ PositiveWhile Tenergy rubbers tend to have some sharp edges in performance, Tenergy 80 is perfectly balanced across all aspects. Both drive and block techniques, along with all skill levels, are easily improved.
▽ CriticalWhile it's a very good rubber, the high price and short lifespan are drawbacks. The topsheet wears easily, and the bounce diminishes within a month on the forehand side.

I thought this was a good rubber. Not too fast, not too slow, not too much spin, not too little - among the Tenergy line, I'd say it's close to a "manual" style rubber. If you're switching from something like Rakza, I think it's a good idea to go through the 80 first.

A lot of people use Tenergy 80. I think it's a rubber that suits the backhand side. It's not an exaggeration to say its performance sits right between the 05 and the 64.

If you try it on forehand, opinions split clearly between love and hate. It's like you can't quite tell whether the arc is extremely low or extremely high.

It suits people who want to attack consistently. It's not suited to a loop-heavy style.

It probably bounces more than most people expect.
But even so, it still grips the ball a ton for spin,
and control is surprisingly good too!

I used this on my forehand. It felt like my drives and smashes went up a notch in quality. The feel when hitting is really good too. It's definitely a rubber where spin and speed both come together well. It's also easier to control than the 05. The downsides are the high price and short lifespan.

Tenergy 80 is the most balance-focused rubber in the Tenergy series.
Performance-wise, it feels like it takes the good parts of the spin-focused 05 and the speed-focused 64. It's not as spinny as the 05, but it still grips the ball solidly, and it's not as fast as the 64, but it still has good speed. The sponge hardness is the same as the 05, but I found the 80 easier to use.
Jun Mizutani also used this rubber, so naturally a lot of pros use it too. It also pairs extremely well with the Butterfly Innerforce Layer ZLC blade. Both forehand and backhand are easy to handle, but personally I think it's better on the backhand side. The short game is easy to do too - it's a fantastic rubber all around!

I switched to this after using Tenergy 05. Compared to the 05, the 05 grips the ball more for spin, but that also meant I made a lot of overshoot mistakes. Since switching to the 80, I've had fewer overshoots. Compared to the spin-focused 05, the 80 is more about balance, so I'd recommend it to people who feel the 05 has plenty of spin but not enough speed, or conversely, people who feel the 64 has good speed but not enough spin, as well as anyone trying the Tenergy series for the first time. Sorry for the long post.

Takumaru (Experience: 6〜10 years) Spin is insane~!!

I'm using this on the forehand
of a Tomokazu Harimoto Innerforce ALC
and yeah, it definitely feels fast.
But since it's fast and still grips the ball for spin,
it's by far my favorite rubber in the Tenergy series.
      It's a bit soft,
so looping was easy to do!
Even when I clip the ball a bit while driving,
opponents often mess up their blocks,
so it felt kind of close to Tenergy 05!
