The 80 might actually suit a penhold looper well. There's no technique it makes hard. It's an excellent rubber where you can do drives, hits, and the short game all at a high level. It works on both forehand and backhand too. I'm a penhold looper who plays more like a blocker, and blocking is easy with this too. The pain points are the price and the lifespan, though... There's no rubber as good as a freshly-replaced Tenergy. I've also hit with Dignics, but it's not quite my preference, so I'm still figuring things out.

It takes the best parts of both the 05 and the 64, and I can recommend it for both forehand and backhand for intermediate-to-advanced players. It turned out to be exactly the rubber I was looking for, though it would be nice if there were something in between the 64 and the 80 too.

Just as the product description says, the chiquita is easy to do. As for stability on the backhand, if you normally use a somewhat hard rubber, I think you'll feel more stability from this than from the 05 or 64.
I switched to the 80 from Rozena because I wanted a bit more power, and I think anyone thinking the same way could make the switch without any awkwardness.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

Up until now I'd been using Fastarc G1 on a blade without special materials, but when I bought an Innerforce Harimoto model, I decided to try putting Tenergy 80 on it.
I figured it would fly everywhere and be uncontrollable, but it was easier to control than I expected.
Even when I got pushed back, the ball still came in powerfully and in a more linear path.
Also, when I hit loop drives, they still got plenty of spin.
Even so, serves and receives didn't fly too long, and it was easy to hit with.

I used to have it on both sides, but it didn't quite suit my forehand so I stopped using it there. On the backhand, I felt like it was a rubber with nothing that's hard to do — chiquitas, stops, pushes, backhand topspin drives, all of it.

It was harder than I expected. My first Tenergy was the 05, and the 80 was my second, but it turned out to be a pretty different animal. With the 05, honestly even a sloppy hit would go in, but with the 80, the ball goes in fine, but it was hard to produce a good ball. Maybe there's a specific way you're supposed to hit with the 80...
Performance-wise it's every bit a Tenergy, so no complaints there at all. Both speed and spin are top-level. The ease of countering in particular stood out.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

Switched my backhand from the 05 FX to the 80 max thickness. Its moderate hardness made things like stops, pushes, and chiquitas over the table easy to do. Backhand topspin drives from away from the table also get plenty of spin and dig deep into the opponent's side. I'd recommend giving it a try at least once!
